Keeps calling - tries 1 or 2 times every day and won't leave a message.
This time I decided to answer the call rather than let it go to voice mail and it turns out to be a survey for Enbridge. He had a series of questions about Enbridge itself,as well as cable/satellite,phone, gas and electrical services.
Received call ~12:40pm Saturday 15sep07. Said they were calling on behalf of the Texas Lottery Commission to get public's ideas on lottery. When I asked if they realized we were on the Do Not Call List, very polite lady said "You're not on ours, but I can add you." When I pointed out that this was a National Do Not Call List that entailed federal prosecution for violating, she said, "Oh, but I'm calling from Canada." (!!) paid for by a Texas State pseudo-agency, yet!
613 688-3615 called me September 19, 2007 at 6:15 P.M. Had a call last night at the same time and same thing happened. No communication of any kind. I stayed on the line until they hung up. Both nights. Weird.
Always get this number as well as 416 233 3655 or another close variation to that, i'm never home to get the calls and they never leave a message. However the 613 area code is local to Ottawa and the 416 Toronto, but neither is listed in the yellow pages.ca website.....Also nobody answers when you call them back and you don't get an answering machine.
First of all it's IPSOS REID (www.ipsos.ca) Got a call from this number last night (Sunday evening at nearly 9 pm!! - who the f*** does phone surveys at that time of night? Especially if they expect real answers?) - anyway the person calling sounded like a 12 year old girl and spoke SO quickly I had to ask her to repeat what she had said (she actually said she was calling from Ottawa - which makes sense by the area code) and that she was doing a survey on beer drinking. I said I wasn't interested at which point she asked "oh so there's no one between 18 and 29 years of age in your household who drinks beer?" My answer: "NONE OF OYUR BUSINESS!" and hung up. I really wonder how these survey companies expect to get reliable, accurate information when they call with such a laundry list of expectations and at such weird hours...
I was just called by this number. I never answer the phone anymore unless I recognize the number. And of course they never leave a message so you always know what it is. I have no interest in participating in any poll. Especially when I'm home and finally relaxing for the day. I live in Manitoba.
The other day when they called I called back and the recording said it was the Home Tester's Institute, a company that does surveys and lets you test products for free. Now it has the Reid message mentioned above, but still about surveys.
