hal - 27 Dec 2007I don't usually but I did pick up and talk to these telemarketer/hired Canadian guns. They wanted to know how pleased or displeased I was from a recent call I had made with a bank. They didn't ask me any personal questions just "how was the service", "how was the representative", etc.. If you start to get calls on your cell phone I would check to see if your cell phone provider uses these people. Otherwise, ask them to wait and leave the phone off the hook for as long as it takes for them to give up.

Rick - 11 Feb 2008Unsolicited calls to your cell phone are illegal even if you are not on the DNC list, since it costs you money to answer. You may have a "bucket" of minutes in your plan, so it doesn't cost you, per se, if you don't go over your limit, but it still costs you since it denies you the use of those plan minutes and could cost you extra if you were to go over. The one thing I do not know is exactly how to complain. I'm guessing the FCC has a box you check on the complaint form.

Smart Guy - 4 Oct 2008WRONG! Telemarketers can not use automated dialing equipment to reach your cell phone. They do this by excluding the prefixes that belong to the cell phone companies. Plain old dialing for dollars firms can still call you. Put your cell phone number on the DNC and then only companies who have a business relationship with (and for whom you haven't opted out of partner marketing) can contact you.

Dan - 9 May 2007These guys call multiple times a day (twice already in the past 3 hours). Then I won't hear back from them for weeks. I just let it go to voicemail as I don't know anyone in Ottawahull, Ontario. They never leave a message.

Rossi - 19 May 2007This number flips to Ipsos Marketing Research of Onterio, Canada. I did not answer, but sources on other sites advise that Ipsos says they do not come under No Not Call laws because they are a "Research" company.
