Caller asked for "homeowner", on behalf of the authorized local representative of ADT Home Security.

A "Martin Smith" with asian accent called on behalf of RCMP. He claimed that there are several allegations against me and tried to collect some information.

A man called imposing as  RCMP representative and wanted information

Caller saying he is from rcmp and asking for personal information
Likely a Phishing scam.

"Inspector Terry with British accent on behalf of RCMP call from UK number but give this number (613-699-8732) to call him back, he said you have a law suite and must call us back. Pure scam..... DON'T call back"

He called from 44-151-528-6900 (Liverpool UK)

I'm going to report it to RCMP, please do the same to protect other people.

I just got a call too he said the samething

I had a call from this number when I was away for vacation. The left a message asking to call me back with some identification information. I right away called the RCMP at 613-993-7267 and the person told me that this was an extortion scam and police in Canada do not operate in this way. Everyone receiving such calls should report to the RCMP to get these scammers arrested.

Got a phone call from the same number, impersonating Officer McMurry, left a message with a call back number (same number), alleging identification problems against me.
I called the RCMP, GTA Central. The RCMP listened to the message, and acknowledged that this a scam ran by couple of guys impersonating RCMP or CRA for the purpose of ripping off people. RCMP office said warn everyone you know of this kind of calls.

Please report to the local police or RCMP when you receive a call from this number.  It is a scam as the allegations were false and they are attempting to solicite more info to identify your true identity, do not admit those allegations.

I got a similar voice message from this number posted as RCMP informing me that there is allegation against me.  I forwrded the message to the RCMP detachment.

Had a voicemail message from an officer Terrance (had an accent, not sure of origin... middle eastern, english??) claiming he was RCMP from the Canadian Revenue Agency detachment. He said there was a legal case file against my name and identification and to call 613-699-8732. Said that if I didn't call back I am responsible for any legal action taken against me.
Seemed weird so before calling the number back, I did some investigation online of this phone number and discovered this site. Not calling the number back... not giving them the satisfaction of a response.

This is twice now: first a call some months ago from a man supposedly from CRA and now a woman supposedly from the RCMP.  Both patently false.

With so many reports of scam calls coming from this number, shouldn't the phone company put a stop to false numbers?

Web administrators: you need a new category for "Scam" calls - "Prank" isn't adequate.

We got a voice message from this number claiming he is an office from CRA. Asked to call back for a personnel identification or will be responsible for a law suite.  

Got a call stating they calling from our bank and cod not even give my first name - WTF

I got a call from this number claming they are an Agent to RCMP/CRA. I got suspecious about the way the talked and how they handled the phone call. They put me on hold for few times. During that I searched their number on the net. Boom !
It seemed that their number is all over the place. I played along and they asked me to transfer money to:
Mushtaq Ali Jafferi with BMO bank Account. Transit No.: 0783, Account No.: 08303129473.
I sent them S#@! and went to the RCMP.

I got a call from same no they say you have been arrest warrant issued because your tax return is not good and you made transactions to Asia so to settle the tax money you should deposit 1250 dollars through u-Kashmir and do not report to anybody so I give them money as they say this is settlement money .and than I call local police they say this is scam ,so please be aware of them .

i had the same call telling i have some identification problems with rcmp!!!!
the voice was of a woman with an accent i could not recognize.
