- DeeThis person just called us...they claimed they were calling for my husband's benefits. They said that they needed to sign some paperwork in regards to a beneficiary and his accidental benefits. He was going to come from Ottawa and meet us on Saturday. When my husband told me this info, I said this does not sound right and it seems like a scam. My husband called this person back and they answered as "Hello" which seems very unprofessional if you're working for a certain business. My husband told him he was cancelling the meeting and to not come here, he was going to call his union to check what the issue was tomorrow. This person would not take no for answer and continued to rant. We eventually had to hang up on him. He had a thick east-indian accent and his name was Jose. He said he worked for "AIG".
- Caller: "AIG"
- AI've been getting these emails about 3 times a week now for about a week. It is VERY STRANGE but this one actually had a phone number listed this time, as to which I googled and found this page. Thanks for posting Dee! Looks like a scam to me! By the way, they did not attempt once to contact me.
One of our Senior Managers reviewed your resume online and is interested in speaking with you about a position with our company. Unfortunately we have not had any luck getting in contact with you. Please call Luay Ghawi, Recruiting Manger with our Ottawa office at 613-701-2333 Monday through Wednesday from 8am to 12pm to schedule your first interview ASAP. Subsidiary of the Torchmark Corporation (NYSE:TMK) - TracyI received the same email as you did. They might find my profile from website and kept sending me emails with no position described. It must be a scam, be aware!
- Melissa BilowI received a call this morning from this phone number and I called it back and it went to a message saying "this magic jack customer is unavailable" and to leave a message. How do these people get our numbers? I've registered with the Do Not Disturb List.

- RThis number called me today and left a message. Based on the voice the caller was a young woman. She claimed to be "Jodie Parmer from AIL". She spoke a bit quickly and nervously. She said that they had found my resume online and that it was sent over from their regional manager. What a regional manager would be doing screening resumes to line up interviews I have no idea. In any case, there was no description of the job or even the job title. She said that they wanted to bring me in for an interview but had to ask me a few questions first. I decided to call the number back to see what I'd get. It rang five times and then I got a message "this magic jack customer is unavailable" as Melissa on this page described. This is obviously some sort of scam. Note that she asked me to call her back at 613-731-2333. I'm guessing that's another magic jack number. No business would be using magic jack to be making their calls.
"My name is Jodie Parmer and I'm calling from AIL. Umm...we received your resume actually through...ummm...the internet and...ummm...the regional manager sent it over to us to have a look. We can possibly put you in for an interview. Just wanted to ask you a few questions first. If you could please give me a call back that would be great. My number is 613-731-2333. Again my name is Jodie Parmer and I'm with AIL. I just wanted to speak with you about a possible interview. Thank you."- Caller: Claimed it was AIL

Notice yet another 613-731-xxxx number, probably also magic jack. Digging deeper it appears that they do actually "work" for AIL. AIL appears to be an MLM (multi-level marketing, aka ponzie) insurance company. See: http://www.419legal.org/blog/2008/02/02/ameri ... ce-scam-or-not/
The more people that they recruit the more money they make, which is why they are spamming people to try and bring them on.- Caller: AIL
- MadisonThanks for posting this information. I just had a call from one of their "recruiters". He seemed very nice on the phone, however he was asking funny questions like, what are you looking for? We have numerous jobs available so there is an enormous room for growth. Do you see your self in Sales or Management?
For someone who happened to "have" my resume in front of them they didn't seem like they knew what was on it???- Caller: AI Lice
- LiI just got a call from this number and it woke me up. I didn't want to seem like I was sleeping in so I tried to play it off like I was already awake. The woman asked me what kind of job I would like and when I said part-time she said "but what kind of part -time job?"
I was very confused as I could've sworn she didn't even mention which company she was from or what position was open. She offered up a few options and when I chose one she said "are you sure that's a good fit for you?" I started to get more confused so I asked if I could call her back. She gave me a separate number to reach her directly and I immediately looked up the first one. Found nothing good... - JohnLFrom: Rick Altig <HumanResources-AILC@tmkrms.com>
