I've received numerous calls from this number. Finally left a message saying there was going to be legal action taken on my "outstanding tax bill," which I don't have. When I called back the man on the end launched into a spiel about how is was from the RCMP. I interrupted him to ask a question and he told me to "[***] off". I posted the number on Facebook, encouraging people to call the number and say they were legal representatives.

I just picked up a message from this person too, claiming to be with the RCMP and then claiming to be from CRA. I don't owe any taxes.

Same for me. Claimed to be an agent of collection for the CRS and affiliated with the RCMP, who would begin by putting me in jail for ninety days and liening assets and seizing bank accounts etc. He called himself Brandon Waters. He had a Quebecois accent, speaking English.

yeah i got a call from this guy saying hes from revenue canada and my dad would be arrested in one day if we didnt cooperate and he said something about taxes, i hung up and googled it and came here then i called back and confronted  him and he started saying nasty things thats when i knew it was a fraud no professional talks to people like that unless they wana lose their job, he has an indian accent and hes working with a women she picked up first then gave him the call so BE careful these people are scammers

Guy called said his name is Steve Faraday, complete scam...

I got several calls from this guy "Eric Foster" who claims to be from the criminal investigation department of Canada Revenue Agency. He has a very thick East Indian accent. Threatening me with a very serious lawsuit against me and if I don't call back right away, I'll face a very serious consequence including my SIN number.

caller says his name is Eric Foster and is calling from CRS.  He has an Indian accent and is very threatening.  He is obviously full of **it.  Do not respond.

I got two phone calls one and one today saying that my drivers license would be suspended,my bank account frozen
my house seized if i dint pay the $1400.00 i owed crs from 2009 to 2011, crs were contacted day advised me that didnt owe them anything, and i didnt owe themand it was a phone scam contact your  police dept.or anti fraud div

Just got a message from this POS claiming he is from CRA credit investigation dept. Scam. I'm an accountant and have dealt with CRA before. They never leave ambiguous and threatening messages. He started by saying "this message is for you". Hahaha Do not respond.

Received a call from 613 704-2174.  He has a heavy accent, claims there is a legal claim against us.   If there was a legal claim I think I would receive to via nail.  Scam......scam.

I got several calls and the guy told me there is a case filed under my husband's name after these calls they said the case is under my name because I was answering the phone during the day I ask why now you are saying it is under my name instead my husband the guy told me to (***) up.

I called police and gave them the phone #. Police was aware of this number.Don't pick up the phone.Scam

Yeah I got two calls yesterday.  I answered the first one and it was a recording saying there was a law suit against "you" (no names were used).  Then probably because I had answered that call, they called back with an actual person.  This time he had our last name, but just an initial for the first name (like it is listed in the phone book).  I asked him who was calling and he said Steve (something) from the CRA, so I gave him a blast of my whistle that I keep by the phone.  I guess he liked it because I see that he called back again today while I was out.

Got the exact same call on my answering machine this morning!  Suspected it may be a scam, hence searched for it and arrived here.  Thanks guys, for confirming my suspicion.

just received a call from 613-704-2174.  Total scam said lawsuit filed against my name and would affect my SIN if didn't call back immediately.  I really hope nobody falls for this hoax.  Why is this allowed anyway? Police should track down these scammers and charge them with attempted robbery b/c that's exactly what is is

i reported it to the rcmp tried to contact  criminal  investigation  and was on hold for 40  min  i hung up !

Same story as you read above. I just received the call. Not that I believed the guy, but googled it to see others' experience with him.
Don't give him any personal information. But, if you have time, play his game with him and enjoy fooling him. That might give him a lesson :)

I also received a call from this number 613 704 2174, he had an Indian accent, said his name is Eric Foster from RCA, criminal investigation dept...that a  nasty legal lawsuit against me and to call this number asap otherwise I would face all consequences in terms of legal costs etc..concluded saying "have a nice blessed day" ..a business call willl never end message with "blessed":....My take is ......dont these people have anything better to do than these...I have a word for these guys..hey, if you love money so much, work hard for it, that money will stay with you for long and when you go above, you wont have to answer your devil work before the Lord !

Just received a threatening call from "Eric Foster" of the CRA saying I faced criminal charges if I didn't call 613-704-2174 immediately.  I know the CRA never "telephones" with that kind of information (they only put it in writing in a hard copy letter) so I figured it was a scam.  Also, my taxes are perfect and I know I don't owe any money!  These people are disgusting!!!

An Indian man calls couple times a week claiming that time sensitive legal action will be taken against "you" and will red flag you. He always leaves a different fake name and has claimed to be from Canada Revenue Agency and RCMP.
