Bogus Microsoft Tech support.  Now they are using a real companies phone number to be displayed.  That company has nothing to do with MS.  Calcutta is over run with scamers!

I just received a phone call from  a person called Micheal saying that my computer was damaged with unwanted programs and they were receiving "over there" messages that my computer was infected. I asked the me where he was calling from, he said from Washington state and he gave me his phone number 702-943- something, unfortunately I could not get the rest.
But the number used was 613-739-9992.

I received a call from several different numbers from this caller including calls with bogus caller ID from California, Ontario and Romania/Florida.  All of the numbers have been spoofed, Same scam -- started with Microsoft representative and later said was a MS partner.  I contacted MS security and they DAKed any company authorized to make outbound calls on their behalf.   I suggest you download MSERT from Microsoft's website and check for Trojans.  .

Just got a call at 4:59 about my windows computer. I told him he has called before... Long pause.. Oh he says, I said I have a Mac! 2nd time called.. If there is a third I'm coming after him. 613-739-9992

Bucket shop call. Guy had THICK Hindi accent, said he was from "Computer Service Centre" or some damn thing. Told him not to call back.

Got a call from a very hard to understand guy who wanted to fix my computer.  Led him on for a while pretending to start computer and having problems.  He was getting quite excited until I told him I don't have a computer. "Click".  :)

Call from this number this morning.  Claiming to be from Microsoft with info about my computer, blah, blah, blah.  Same old scam that they've called with before.  I just laughed and asked him if he knew he was a scammer.  His answer?  "Click"  Too busy to lead him along any more than that today.

I've posted about this on Facebook to make sure the less-tech savvy among my friends at least know to avoid this.  All scammers reported to FCC to help them collect the data they need.

Not much else I can do.  If they call again I'll block the number (really LOVE that feature of caller-id on my phone!).

A woman with a super thick accent called herself "Michael" and told me they were seething error messages from my computer.  When I asked which computer they said the one running Microsoft.  I said you must be a scammer because I only have a Mac.  She then hung up on me.

Got a call from the same number, 613 739 9992...after getting all the same info I'm seeing from everyone else, I told him that if I had problems with my computer I would go back to where I bought it from to which he replied, "F you"...
