I got a call with an east indian accent telling me he is a tax officer and he is from CRA and that I was being audited and for fraud they have a warrant to be filed but before they go to court I should contact them. What the @#$@#!?I did not call back..

Got the exact same call this afternoon.  Bogus.

I got the exact same call. They have called twice now. The last guy had an East Indian accent and said his name was Jim Davis. Probably just a scam to get money out of people

Got the same call today.  Was garbled but sounded like they were threatening to take us to court??? Brutal! If people actually put this amount of energy into being good productive citizens the world would be a better place!!

Got a message from a guy with an Indian accent.  He said that there was a warrant against me for income tax fraud and to contact him to discuss this before it goes to court.  When I tried calling back I got a message saying it was from the CRA dept of revenue Canada and I was to leave my phone no. And they would call me back.  I will be reporting this to the Income tax office here.  I think the public should be warned about such scam

If you have EVER seen a CRA official riding to work, on a camel, on a SUNDAY, you had better pay the debt NOW, before you are arrested, taken to court, found guilty, deported, and put in an Indian or Pakistani prison until your obligation is satisfied!

Said he was auditior with Rev Canada and that there was a warrant out for my husbands arrest with the RCMP. Hahahahaha. Funny thing is....my husband is with the military and the military police would handle the situation if there was a "warrant". Oh and also....they kept calling my husband by our last name.

ITS A SCAM!!!!!Got 2 phonecall this am. First one listened to our answering machine. Then called back right away. Said he was Officer James Davis with the Tax Audit Dept of Revenue Canada, and needed to speak to my husband as there was a warrant against him with the RCMP and our property. Hahahahaha. First thing, the caller kept calling my husband by our last name (like it was his first name).....second thing...my husband is with the Canadian military. If there was a so called "warrant"... The Canadian military would be involved. Third....they call from a call centre that shows up L1-800-959-8281 but ask you to call back a long distance number 613-800-9167.

Same guy Jim Davis, he gives you a badge number, but does not give you any information when you ask him, says there is a warrant out for you and you owe money to the government. Such a joke, if I owed them money they would not have given me my child tax.

We received a call with directions to call this number this aft.  Stated it was "Logan Smith" with criminal investigations, division of CRA.  Stated he had a warrant for my husband's(name withheld) arrest and,  "before we sign the warrant we'd like to have a word with you to try and resolve the matter.  Gives the direct line number as this 613-800-9167

Got the same call from Logan Smith on our answering machine this afternoon too!

I've experienced the same. It's a fraud. If you get such a call, ignore it and call 1-800-959-8281 or the tax office in your province to attest for this fact and (if you wish) ensure your taxes are in order (I did so).

Be careful not to fall victim to the tax schemers; "my CRA agent" (James Davis) was a very competent talker, although he couldn't explain some illogical details (they asked me for 2008 taxes in 2015, why I've got nothing in writing ever, what type of tax was in question?...). All that he didn't know he justified by explaining that his role was "just to give me information while my case details were with local CRA office").

He requested a payment via a government bond or voucher to be given to a CRA agent at my home (!). Optionally, I'd be arrested, held in jail for 3 days, and appear in a court. He sounded very authoritative, but I asked many questions. In the end, I asked him for a CRA office tel. number where I could check my case, and he gave me the correct number! But he became impatient when I requested a few days to run my checks. I wonder how do these criminals intend to eventually extract money when they come to your home?! Also, how far can they go? In addition to the phone call, I've got an email to my business address, allegedly from CRA. I suspect those are the same schemers. I never opened the attachment to the message.

I just got a call from this number and a person with heavy Indian accent identified himself as Thomas Brown and told me that I have been investigated for a tax fraud from 2006 to 2014. When I asked him to give me his employee number he gave me CA 1568. When I asked to send me any information by post he said he did send to me mail twice, which of course I didn't get. When I said I would call CRA on Monday to confirm his accusations he said he would refer me to local police and hung up on me. Beware of this scam  and do not give any information or even waste time talking to them. On the top this individual addressed me as Mr.so and so. And any agent from CRA having access to my files would know that I am Mrs.

Had a message yesterday from an East Indian man calling himself William Austin stating the same as what has been mentioned above. Glad I found the info on this website when doing a search for the phone number.

Received message from 'Logan Smith'  this a.m. re warrant for arrest from CRA. Did not reply.

East Indian accent - called and stated that my wife had a warrant out for her arrest related to tax filings.  Unfortunately for him I am a tax accountant who knows filings for my wife are up to date and no issues so I called back and asked a few questions then told him that he was an idiot and should get a real job.  Their scam is to get you to buy vouchers to "pay your tax" by sending it to them....

I'm elderly and disabled.Logan Smith (this time a East Indian women) called me to inform me that because I had ignored two attempts by CRA agents trying to serve me papers (not true), I was now going to be arrested for some kind of fraud on my taxes.When I told her I was going to get my lawyer involved ,I was threatened with immediate arrest. I smelled a rat.I told a friend who directed me to this site.These scum must be stopped.
