don't know anyone from this area code - message kept on saying "Please wait for an important call"...    I hung up as this was on my cell phone and I suspected solicitation or political propaganda...

I  had a 2 second message from this phone number. My cell phone was turned off when it was recieved. So I dont know what the caller ID is.

"Please wait for an important call"...    Usually means this is from a collection agency. My caller I.D. reports this number as Discover. I don't know if this was the credit card people or the name of the agency, they were looking for a co-worker.

I just recieved a call that repeated "please wait for an important call" Suspecting s scam i hung up immediatly.

Automated recording, saying "please wait for an important call".

Yeah them punks called me too. I didn't answer though. Just called the number back to see who or what would answer. Basically it's solicitation from Discover card. *[***]*

They called my cellphone at 430 pm Mountain Standard Time. I called back from my office phone. It's Discover, with whom I do have an account. When they asked me for my phone number to "look up my account", I refused. I asked if this was for telemarketing or an account issue. She responded, "It could be either, but probably an account issue". Probably? No thanks. I told her that if Discover wanted to reach me they could have left a voicemail, which they did not, which isn't my problem, so goodbye. *click*

I got a call from this number twice today, I answered neither one.  But one did leave me a message to urgently call "Alex" back (he mentions no company) at 1-800-347-4918; which claims to be from discover and asks immediatly for the last 4 of your account number.  I'm leary of this and will be calling Discover (with the number imprinted on the back of my card) to see if there is actually anything "urgent" to take care of...I have my doubts.

"Please hold for an important message." Was all it said. After writing down the phone number, date & time & hearing 2 beeps I hung up (approx. 40 seconds on phone). Suspicious call, rec'd at work. I do not have a Discover Acct.

This lady Jessica called and wanted to speak to my mom, but would not give me the company she was calling from. So, I refused to give her any additional info.

They called our many time in the moring but we have not answered because too early. We call back after that a male voice said they are from Discovery card. They told me we are behide payment and as many question about personal ID. I check in the phone book and found the number is not Discovery company. It is residental number. Pleas some body do something to prevent this.

My father was on the phone when the call came through call-waiting.  They asked to speak to me and he said he would get me.  I take the phone and hear a click from the caller hanging up.
I'm a little skeptical that this was really Discover Card considering this is appears to be a residential phone number.
My account is up-to-date, so I really doubt it was a legitimate call.

someone is calling me from this number over and over (7-8 times per day) leaving a voice message that I need to call them back immediately. I dont have this number in my phone book. dunno how his guy got my number and how to prevent future calls as its interrupting my work and bothering me to much.

This is Discover Card calling because of an overdue balance on your account.

This is NOT someone trying to "steal people ID"
and is not a sales call.

I have been getting this same call 4 or 5 times a day for about a week now. I usually don't answer and message says "Please hold for an important message" but no message ever comes. If I answer, same thing. It's so annoying. Caller ID says it's from "Discover". I do not have a Discover card and no past due bills. How can we stop this??????

Discover card? I do owe them money. But probably a collection agency they hire. I don't answer

I receive this call on my cell phone at 2:50pm.  I didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer it, they left no message so it was not a legitimate call.  From the comments I've read 'm glad I didn't answer it.  How did they get me cell number?

Received calls on my cell phone twice in less than 10 minutes from this numer-Since I am not familiar with number and they have left no message thus I do not answer. Reading above comments has me wondering if it's Discover who called my cell earlier today and left an 800 number to call ASAP. My policy is if you can't bother to leave a message why bother to call you?
