i think it may be discover card or gmac?

did not answer call, no voicemail was left.

Called mobile phone, answered, state "we have an important message", waited for someone to come on the line and they hund up!!!

I have nearly 20 missed calls from this number and they never leave a message.  I finally answered it today and a man's voice said "I'm looking for" and then my sister's name.  The guy's voice sounded monotone (possibly a recording) and it didn't sound very friendly so I hung up.  My guess is it's some sort of scam or telemarketer, cause if they're not willing to leave a message after that many calls, then that's usually a warning sign that you shouldn't call back.

I get calls from this # it seems like every hour on the hour. I get calls at my work also i can see what # is calling so i dont answer. that tells you i recgonize the freakin #. They did leave a message today saying it was kaiser and that they had a message to share with me and to call 877-860-4214. i didnt call

I just had this number called me and they didnt leave a message. I dont know who it is so I didnt answer. At first I was thinking that maybe it was one of the places that I had applied to for a job but the problem with that is that I already have those #.

On my caller ID it comes up as DISCOVER/FINANCE.. and i owe them, so screw you Discover..

These people from Discover keep calling even though I've told them that neither I, nor my wife, have EVER had an account with Discover.  How do you gets these morons to remove you from their autodialer?  Is this not illegal?

I get calls every day from this number, starting at 8:00 in the morning up until about 8:00 at night. They never leave a message and I'm sick of the calls. Does anyone know who to get them removed or is there a way to stop them from calling everyday. I think is is a scam.

This number calls my cell phone and other cell phones on my plan 5-10 times a day, never leaving a message.  My home phone gets called and repeatedly says "please hold for an important message"....enough already!!

Now I know to never answer a call from this number, its obvious that it is some sort of scam.

I answered because I know someone with that area code, and they claimed that I was late on my Discover account which was totally wrong.  They also asked for my account number and work phone #, which collection agents don't do (or at least aren't supposed to) if they are calling you.  DO NOT PICK UP. If you pick up, do not give them any information. If you feel that your account is compromised in any way, contact your card customer service immediately and talk to their fraud detection department.

I have been getting calls from this number and no one is ever there. They left a message on my cell phone, but all it was, was a beep followed by a long pause of silence then they hung up. If it were Discover, my account is current, and if they really wanted money I would think they would leave a message or at least talk to me when i pick up. I hate being interupted thinking i have an important phone call and come to realize its all BS.

So i just got another call from this number and decided to answer. I said hello about 5 times and finally a nice English speaking woman came on the phone and apologized for all the phone calls i told her i had been receiving. Long story short she was calling to say that my automated payments had ended and my account was past due. They waived the fee and reinstated my payments. I'm glad they got ahold of me, so i think its worth giving them a try when you answer the phone and at first it may seem like no one is there.

This is Discover.  It's probably because you have a late payment.  They will take you off the call list if you call the # back and you will get a live person when you call the # back.

This number called my number but didn't leave a message when I called it back they said that they were a Discove and tried to get my card number, I didn't but they then asked my name and then played like they got the wrong names and numbers mixed-up, this is a scam no doubt.

Guess its discover by other posts.  They never say who they are but just ask for a person that I don't know.  There is a law where you can collect $500 per call, although collectors claim they are exempt, they are not really.  If they call the wrong number and continue to call that number they are liable.  Know some neighbors that have collected $3,000 from such.  You have to file a complaint and then take them to court but it works.  It works for telemarketers and creditors.

I think it's a collecting agency or someone trying to collect a debt because they call my office 10 times a day and usually no one is on the other line (in the mornings) then by the afternoon sometimes there is someone on the line but I can hear the beeping in the background like the call is being recorded.  I've also got the automated "hold for an important message" or "hold please, your call is being transferred."
