- EvelynCalled looking for a family member, couldn't give any information regarding the reason for the call but wanted me to give family member's phone number. I don't give out phone numbers to anyone.....especially when they get rude with me on the phone.
- DKaiserA man called my phone, ask for someone I have never heard of. I explained this was not her number, he wanted a number for her and I told him I did not have one, I didn't know her, and that this has been my number for over 20 years! He said, "Oh really?" I had to hang up on him, it seemed like he was stalling to keep me on the phone.

- Toddcalled saying he was from the attorney general office of the state of ohio....looking for a relative.
- MikeGot a call regarding my student loans. Did not answer the first call, so they did call my parents looking for me and didn't give them any information.
I returned the call and spoke with Michael Knotts. As far as debt collectors go, he was affable and polite. He was calling to collect on a student loan that I had allowed to default and was actually very helpful. He assisted with consolidating the loan with another and got me a pretty reasonable payment plan.
This was a federal student loan, so I think he had some good options at his disposal. I cannot speak for how the company would handle collection on a different type of debt. For me, though, the experience dealing with RCS was shockingly pleasant.- Caller: Reliant Capital Solutions

- KristenThis man named Michael Knotts called me regarding my student loan. I understand that it is his job as a collector to try and resolve student loans. I told him that I had the intention of wanting to settle my student loan debt, as well. He asked me if I had other student loan debts, and I told him I did (about 25K) but I had already paid those off. He scoffed at that as if he didn't believe me (??). He was like "Uh, are you sure? Don't like to me, Kristen." I was really puzzled. Yes, is it so hard to believe that I had paid off most of my student loans? Why would you make me feel like I am some sort of delinquent for working hard to pay off my loans over time and that I am lying about having paid off most of my loans? All that was left were these Perkins loans (totaling $4.5K) and I was not in a place to pay them now, so I asked him I could make a small payment now and then pay a greater amount monthly, moving forward. He was awful and rude - "We don't do payment plans. You owe money and you owe all of it. When are you going to pay it?" I asked him to calm down and transfer me to someone else. He was like "You're talking to me." I said yes, I am aware I'm talking to you but I would prefer to speak with someone else because you're extremely rude. After refusing to transfer me and threatening to put me on the phone with legal if I don't talk to him, he finally transferred me to his supervisor who helped me out beautifully and we were able to resolve the matter.
I looked this man (Michael Knotts) up later and found that he was a community college dropout or something who has worked in collections all his life. Figures that he would be bitter about being uneducated. Yes, I paid a shitload for my degree and I shouldn't have had to, but our government is too screwed up to understand what a disaster it is causing for its people from a long-term perspective. Everyone knows that students loans are a freaking joke and scam, but some of us need the money to get a degree in order to not work at McDonalds or Reliant Capital Solutions on an hourly wage in the long run.
Thanks Michael Knotts, for being a snarky, grade A [***].- Caller: Reliant Capital - Michael Knotts

- Angela| 2 repliesThis SOB has called repeatedly about my student loans. I told him that I have a Total and Permanent Disability Discharge, therefore I no longer owe anything and he needs to stop calling. He then claimed that he had not heard of this, and that i needed to call OSU to tell them this.
Which is total BS, because the Department of Education (which provides the discharge program) wrote to me saying that THEY will contact OSU on my behalf.- Call type: Debt collector
- Angela replies to Angela| 1 replyWell this time I got some one different on the phone. He explained that OSU did not discharge the Perkins loan when the rest of my student loans were discharged.
So, basically, this is actually OSU's fault for not discharging the loan.
Needless to say I am pissed off at my former college! Thanks to THEIR mistake, I was harassed by these guys for months.
Now I need to contact the folks in charge of the Disability discharge to get them to contact OSU to clear up this mess. - Sonny Simmons replies to AngelaAngela, make sure He's not lying to you. Debt collectors will lie about debt You don't owe. The first

- Why call me?Someone named Bruce from Reliance Capital Solutions left a message for me to call them. I looked it up and they are a debt collector for student loans. I am not sure why they are calling me, because I don't have any students loans and have never had student loans. If they are not going to leave more information about why they are calling, I don't plan to call them back...might be a scam.

- Mary| 1 replyI received a phone call from a Michael Knotts about a Perkins loan that is past due. I thought all my loans were with great lakes but I guess I was wrong. He was very polite in explaining my options. I don't understand why previous people think this is a scam, if you are college educated you should know that you probably have student loans and if you use the resources and websites given you would see that these bill collectors are legit. If you don't think the company is legit about what they are calling you for maybe you should do some research yourself and verify all of your student loans. I myself didn't realize I had different companies handling my loans but Mr. Knotts gave me a website I could view all of my loans on to confirm what info he was giving me was true. The options I was given were reasonable and I didn't even know I was able to do what he told me. Thanks again RCS.

It tells you what you need to know, what to do, what federal and state agencies to report this criminal enterprise to, and even gives you a clue on how to make them pay you. - QI received a missed call from him the night before that I did not answer.
