Just wondering what this is.

Ohio call, left no message.

With CID of only "Ohio", we didn't answer.  No message left on answering machine, and sure as hell no call back. Google search came up empty.  Added to our call blocker.  End of story

I picked the call. No response. After few seconds they/it hung up.

Answered work phone. Said according to records, my security system is out of date and needs to be replaced.

Told them they had to contact Corporate, and they hung up before I could give a number

Caller asked to speak to my husband. I asked who was calling. She said General Electric and would call back later.

Scam. Said they were calling from the mfg of my home alarm. When I asked which alarm I owned, she couldn't tell me.

My father stupidly answered their call.  When they said that our "security contract" was about to expire, he stupidly said that we didn't have a security system.  Great.  Now they will probably rob our house.

They just called me left a message asked for the name listed in the phone book which is always an alert to me that that is where they are getting my name from, that is not my name, so I know they are fakers.

Received a call from this number today; no message left on voicemail. When I called it back from my private line, I got an automated message stating it was not a working number. So it's likely spoofed, and definitely a scam.

Just received a call, as other claiming to be the manufacturer of my alarm system.  I avoided answering their questions, and asked who the mfg of my alarm was - they said Honeywell.  They claimed since I was a loyal customer I was receiving an upgrade.  I asked for how long, and they gave a timeframe.  Nothing matched.  It's a phishing scam.

Idiotic woman said she was calling from the manufacturer of my security system.  I asked her who the manufacturer was, and that we had just installed a brand new system.  She then said she needed to talk to my husband.  I told her she could not speak with my husband, and to take my number off of the list.  She just kept rattling on and on, refusing to accept a word I said.  She got confrontational.  I asked to speak to her manager/supervisor.  She said I could not, and that she was actually the manager.  I told her she was an idiot and to never call again.  I repeatedly demanded to speak with her supervisor.  She said several times that she would just call me back later, that she had to explain some information to me about my security system.  I told her she is breaking the law by refusing my request to speak to her manager.  She said, "No, I'm not breaking the law."  Then she tried to go right back into her script (obviously seeking information).  I told her again to take this number off the list and to never call again.  She said, "Oh, I will call you again."  Before she could utter another sound I hung up on her.  When I tried to call the number back it was just a fast busy signal, as if all lines were tied up or down.  These people need to be stopped.

In my initial comment, I failed to mention that the background noise made it obvious that this was in a telemarketing room with many people calling different people.  Quite irritating.

Got a call from 614-745-2584 today at 2PM and didn't pick up. She must not have noticed it went to my voicemail because she asked for me by first and last name. Kinda scary. Time to block this one...

Got a call from 614-745-2584 today around 6 pm. I answered and I had practically the same discussion as Karia but in my case I have discussed with the supposed manager, a woman. It has been impossible to know the name of the company. I suppose that it was a telemarketer. Do we have the possibility to block this kind of numbers?

Called and left no message. Morons.

I got a call from 614 -745-2584.... I was kept them on the phone long enough to have the call trace.. So no there going be a court case file with this number.  The phone company was a big help for a few dollars  I caught them.

I find some of the remarks posted about these ‘faux telemarketer calls’ amusing.  I put together a software program that has logged over 500 of these nuisance calls since 2010.  Those of you that let the calls roll to your answering machine, voicemail or worse yet answered the call you have just ensured you will receive more of these calls.  Maybe not from the same number, but they’ve just identified your number as valid which almost assures more calls.  Most of the initial calls originate from software (aka; ‘robocalls’) – once your number is identified as active, then a real person may be there on the follow up calls.  If you have the capability to ‘block’ the number that called – that is the best action.  If you don’t have a blocking option, keep a phone with caller ID close by and simply hit ‘talk’ and ‘off’ simultaneously.  This will reduce the number of nuisance calls, but not stop them.  If you really want to block them – in addition to several cordless phones available there is software that a layman can install.  Of the 500 calls I’ve blocked, I've only added 16 over the last 6 months.  So the message is simple – blocking works….  One additional note, using the aforementioned processes I seldom have a second call from a given number.  But, when I do - I love it when "Number Blocked" shows on my 'Caller ID!!!
Additionally;  The Area Code, Exchange or even the entire number displayed on your caller ID may not accurately reflect the origin of a call as many of these crooks use software that disguises the originating number.
PS:  I think Call Notes should add a 'Call Type' for 'Spoof' or 'Scammer Calls'!

Second day of calls.
Using my Cox number that I never give out so I know it is a scam or nuisance call.
The government is so inept.
Why do we have a no call list and who is getting paid not to do their work.
