I received this call and was immediately hung up by the caller. I then called back and found out it was a recording announcing "Thank you for calling ChaseUSA ......." This call could be a mistake by ChaseUSA telemarketer because I am on Federal Do Not Call List.

I had a call at work from this number. A lady the other end asked what company it was; I told her, then she said: "that is all the information I need to know" - I said "May I ask who is calling?" and she hung up.
Are they trying to collate information to do mail shots etc?!

This was from Chase Bank credit bureau desk, regarding a tradeline that I disputed with a credit bureau. They called to follow up on it and see what's up, which was nice.

I received a call with this caller id and it was in regard to my rewards program points.  I am a current customer of Chase bank.

I got a call from the same number, but I didn't answer it. I called it back and it was ChaseUSA, I do have a credit card through them. They didn't leave a message so I figured it was not an important phone call.

Chase credit card company calling on behalf of one of their customers, disputing a purchase that customer had made from me. Courteous and polite.

This number tried calling my cell phone 11 times in a row on 10/31/2008 (@07:49, 07:50, 07:51, 07:52, 07:56, 07:57, 08:08, 08:11, 08:22, 08:51, and 08:57) No message was left so I don't know who it was or what it was about. (I this is Chase like some others here have reported then I don't know why they are calling me as I have nothing to with that bank.)
This is VERY annoying. If it is Chase then I will do every lawful thing I can to impede their profits from this sort of thing.

Yes indeed 614 776 7070 is coming from CHASE card division.  They have called to verify their intercept of unauthorized charge. First I got suspicious, after asking them tricky questions about my account they answered me correctly.  The person on the other end also reminded me that my minimum payment is few days away.  I said yeh I haven't sent the payment yet.  The caller said yes they can take the payment on the phone and in fact they can make a one time draw on a day I want.  OK, I gave the checking account info.  After we hang up I looked at this site, I started getting the chills, what if I was scammed?  I called CHASE tel number as they tell us to call on the actual monthly bill.  Relief, yes the call indeed came from true CHASE, person on the phone validated all our discussion from the first caller that called from 614-776-7070.   Looks like this is CHASE's outgoing number for all credit card issue.

ANSWER/RETURN THIS CALL!!!

This is Chase Credit Card fraud division calling to alert about a fraudulent charge on my card. Cancelled the card immeadiately & reissued.

Received a hang up from this number. Called back and was given option to add to my number their do not call list. No access to a live person.

The call is from Chase, their fraud/dispute dept. I recvd a call from this # and it turns out that I had disputed a charge a month ago on my credit card account and the people at Chase were working on it for me because the company I recvd bad service from was fighting my dispute. Chase has a deadline to resolve the dispute by and if I would have ignored their call, I would have lost my ability to win the dispute.

I did the same thing! That number called me and I didn't answer. I googled the number and read your post and then I decided to call back. Once I called back I realized that the same thing that happened to you happened to me. I just wonder why they called.

we end up calling chase directly to be safe...

I do not have any credit cards with Chase, nor do I have any active accounts with them anymore...other than a Mortgage. I'm working on refinancing away from Chase. They kept taking money out of my "Free" checking (I closed it,) claimed not to have recieved my auto payments, (funny how those checks cleared in my other account, not with chase.) So, I ended up just paying it off in one lump sum to be done with that nonsense!

With all this Bank of America & JP Morgan Chase trigger happy foreclosure crap...my home was illegally siezed. I'm currently in legal dispute with them over this. Not only do I have to buy my house back, but the goons they hired to "Preserve the Property" caused hundreds of dollars in damage when they litterally broke into my house to rekey and take possession (with all my persoanl property still inside!) Had to pay for Temp housing, food, etc. That company too is also named for damages and loss. They lied to Chase and said my house was vacant! Still trying to locate missing items that only they could have taken.

We bailed out the banks so they could do this to us? I have yet to receive an apology from them for this grave error!!

This number showed up on our caller ID. I fell for a fake-email phishing scam claiming to be Chase, largely because I was receiving many calls from what claimed to be Chase. After reporting the problem to my local bank (in person), they told me that this number was not in the Chase directory. Further, another number that called asking for details was not either.

You don't know what you're talking about, and shouldn't be posting about things you don't understand.  How would 11 calls without a message make Chase any money?  You make no logical, business sense.

I received a call on my cell phone from this number, claiming to need information about a disputed charge on a visa card IN MY EX-HUSBANDS name. I got this cell phone number years after we had been divorced. It's a scam - don't give them any info. They left a message asking to call them back & have my credit card number ready. I know that Chase never asks for these numbers, so called back after hours to see what would happen. I got some woman's voicemail which said to leave a message including my credit card info on their voicemail!  I have an account with Chase so immediately called customer service, who told me that I had no messages or notifications about my accounts, and they once again re-confirmed that they NEVER call a customer & ask them for credit card info.  I reported the scam to Chase.
