- eM| 2 repliesCalls came in three times in my absence; all during daytime hours. Left no message, and the name is not familiar to me. I was unable to find a listing or website to clue me in.
- DebiI got a call from the same number. It was on my new cell phone for someone I don't know. Figure it's the fellow that had the number before me, because I've gotten calls from his friends, and another bank.

- yardnut| 1 reply1-614-789-4823, or 1-614-789-4820 are Universal Fidelity LP out of Houston, TX. they typically buy Student loans, or large debt that is written off by the original provider. They are rude, and have issues with compliance with Fair debt collection, and other Govt regulations for collections.

- NinerI have just received a phone call from Universal Fidelity. Phone number 1-614-789-4820. I talk to a collector and he told me that Wells Fargo has turned the loan to them. They told me that this was a law firm and they are ready to take this to court and that I would have to not only pay for the loan, but also they court and lawyer's fee. Is this correct?
Please respond!!!!!- Caller: Universal Fidelity
- Niner replies to yardnutI read your info and I wrote right under you, but I see that you can reply. Universal Fedility told be they were a law firm and they called me on Friday told me I had to get 9,500 before Monday because they would then put paper work into the courts. Is this true?

- Regina replies to eMIt is Universal Fidelity - a collection agency and they are very nasty. Just google them.
614-789-4823 - me replies to life| 1 replyReally! They are known for unprofessional tactics when collecting a debt. There collection approach is definitely rude and will make you not want to respond. This is why we have rights and can contact the Attorney General and report there poor, unprofessional collection tactics. You cannot be forced to pay what you may not have financially, however it is a good attempt on your behalf to contact them, acknowledge the call (not necessarily the rudeness, as that can be reported to the proper outside forces who will enforce necessary measures. They cannot take you to court personally as they are a third party collection agency, however, they can recommend to atty for procedures to begin. Try working on a suitable payment arrangement, if other attempts to resolved the debt has failed or are uncomfortable for you.
- Lisa M. replies to eMThis is a collection agency that Mercedes Benz of all people uses.
I guess Mercedes doesn't know how to justly handle their own collections so they sell them off to rude [***] who call family members instead. Mercedes isn't as classy as they purport themselves to be. - clgI have been receiving calls from this company for close to a year for someone named Jose. I have called them several times to report that they are calling my work number and I do not know anyone named Jose and they are calling the wrong number. Today I called them and when I tried to tell them what I was calling in reference to I was hung up on four times by four different people. I don't know who this Jose is but this company is obviously not a legite company and no one will stay on the phone long enough to hear me out. They are really making me angry. I work at a community college and I am a female and I am not Hispanic.

- n/ai received several rude calls from University Fidelity out of Texas..phone # is 281 647 4152....this is a very rude collection agency. I paid a debt that had an outstanding balance of 83.66 to them on or before 12/8/08...on 12/8/08 University Fidelity cashed the bank draft, but repeatedly cld my home stating the debt was never satisfyed, despite there error. Someone misapplied the payment to another account, allowing them to constantly call and harrass my home. After several attempts of trying to clear this matter, they just abruptly would not hear me, kept calling my home and sending letters until I had to spend my quality time and fax machine to fax them proof. Even after I faxed the proof of there error which evidence proof that they cashed my bank draft, no one in there company gave me not one apology or contacted me to advise me that the account was closed. Actually, they documented my account, but never advised the person that the fax was addressed to they they received it. They do thing under handily as the contact person had advised me that he never was informed of any fax, but amazingly, someone had documented the account and threw out the fax. (what a crock). There collection tactics are one to be desired. They have practiced procedures not acceptable within the Fair Debt Collection act. I am extremely disappointed in this business and will report there tactics to Attorney General's ofc as they have harrassed me ongoing since November 2008,when they did not try to admit to there error, let alone a formal apology. I recommend that anyone who has a debt referred to this agency, do not let them treat you inhumane, as you have rights, especially if you are and know you are correct.

- WidowI have been receiving calls from Universal Fidelity stating it was an attempt to collect debt. Apparently this is a debt that has already been paid on the behalf of my deceased husband...over a year ago! I haven't had the "pleasure" of talking to anyone as of yet because I don't owe them anything. Should I seek an attorney to handle this? Can they be sued?
