They asked to verify the numbers on a unused credit card. I thought it was a real call. Gave them the numbers BUT the calls persisted. I finally called the credit card issuer and was told Universal Fidelity had NOTHING to do with the issued card. So I think this company is more than a bit shady. Why hasn't the government stepped in? Also just now in checking my caller ID they appear to use a lot of different phone numbers.
They have different offices, they would have different #'s. They are not debt buyers, the work for the original creditor. If the creditor says they don't have it, generally, the creditor screwed up and sent it over when they weren't supposed and are trying to cover up their error. Ever heard of a "scapegoat"?
messages left on my answering system without identifying who they are; rude woman using profanities demanding i pay "without questioning" an AT&T bill.
I have been receiving calls from these people telling me that I have a Macy's card I need to pay on. I told them that I don't have a Macy's card but they insist that I do and that they called me last month and that I agreed to settle with them and now I am denying that I have a Macy's card. They are crazy and really rude. I don't trust them one bit and even if i did owe money, I would not pay them. I don't think they are legit.
Left a message on Saturday at 9 pm on my business number to call 614-789-4825. Could be for any of over 1000 people in the building. I will not give them the satisfaction of calling them. Had a similar situation at home with another company which I called and told them to take me off their list. Have not heard from them again.
Just got a call from them on my business line, & have no clue why they left a message to call them back. I called, but no answer on there end, so They will have to call back & see what they have to say. It's going to be very sweet & short on the business line.
They might want to watch who they call, it could lead them to ther problems.
Be careful these people are RUDE, just got a called asked how did they get tis #, I told them the person they were looking for wasn't the owner of this phone, The man said then give me her number, I then said no I don't now who you are he states why, just give me the number, when I said no he said tis is her number I know it is this is a legal matter take my number and tell her to call me. I thought WOW he is a fool.... They can forget me giving anyone the number.

Like the rest of the people on this board, I keep getting calls from "Universal Fidel" looking to collect money from someone who used to have my number. On December 31, 2007 I called "Universal Fidel" to inform them that who they are looking for does not live here. The person was rude and hung the phone up on me. I am requesting for an mailing address so I can write them a "Cease To Communicate" letter as per the advice from the FTC. Can someone help me with an adrress.
CALLER NEVER ASKED FOR ANYONE. JUST SAID WE HAVE SOME IMPORTANT INFORMATION, CALL BEFORE 9:00 OE ELSE. ON OUR CALLER ID IT SSID UNIVERSAL FIDLTY 281-647-4152
I have received more then 15 calls from these people in the past 12 months. I have spoken to reps there who insist that a person by my name has an unpaid student loan that has gone into default, the name is right but I have never had a student loan through the company that they mentioned, and I am not in default on any loans. When they call they insist, very rudely that I verify my claim of not being the person that they are looking for by giving them my birth date, mother's maiden name and social security, which I naturally refused to give to them. I insisited that they give me the social security of the person that they are looking for and I would tell them if that was mine or not, the lady rep. got hostile on the phone and hung up, this happened the first five times that I received calls from them. The sixth time it was a male rep. he acted out the same routine, also getting hostile after trying to sweet talk me. I insisted on speaking to his supervisor, who gave me a social security number and name, when I told him that the information he provided did not match my data, I insisted that the cease to call me, they agreed but they still leave messages on my answering machine.
This phone number calls me everyday. My voicemail box was never set-up so they could never leave a message. I have never picked up a call from them because I didn't know who the caller was, but I curiously looked up the number and found this forum... I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem. I just set up a voicemail box so I am curious to see whether they will leave a voicemail. If anyone here lives near to the philadelphia area I'm sure if enough people submit complaints fox29 investigates or another one of those news investigative teams would do a story on it.
I continue to get calls from this company on my cell phone. I answered once they were looking for someone, who I didn't know. I was told the person had left my number as a message phone. They were very rude and insistant that I get Jeanie on the phone now. I tried to explain that I did not have a clue who Jeanie is. An asked that they remove my number from their list. Now they just leave the message "please contact us at this number concerning a very important leagal matter" Can they not be stopped?
I have the same phone number only with a different area code. It seems these people are making calls and leaving the number for call backs on the people are using the wrong area code. The people being called must owe money as they sure are rude when I tell them that I did not call them and they have dialed wrong.
I keep getting calls from this number. I couldn't answer because I am in class. Obviously based on what everybody is saying its a fake credit card scam sort of thing. I am 16 years old, so obviously I don't have a credit card. My mom said if they call anymore I should answer, then we're reporting it to Verizon.
I get this call several times a day. Asking me to call a certain number. I do not take calls that I do not recognize and refuse to answer. But they don't give up. They continue to call. This has been happening for several months. Who are they. I do not owe bills. I pay my bills.
