- BetsyThese people called me and said I had an online loan and that I never paid it back, told them I never had one. They then said I need to be prepared to be arrested tomorrow and go to jail for 21 days and have to pay back over $8000. When I told them again that I never had any online loans they yelled at me and said they were tired of talking to me and hung up, but not before saying just be prepared to be arrested.

The more information and complaints there are, the better the chance of getting these criminals to stop (or at least reduce the frequency). [abstracted from another site]
Block their calls. If they continue to bother you, file a complaint with the police for extortion. - CWG40 replies to Jaime ClarkTotal scam. Most likely coming from India. The phrase " as the situation unfolds on you" is a dead giveaway of an Indian scammer/extortionist . Block their calls. Do not pick up on numbers you do not recognize.

File a complaint with the Attorney General for the state you live in - Becky| 2 repliesGot a call today from this number and was told that there was an arrest warrant filled against me. When I ask for what I was directed to a "law office" so they could read me the affidavit. The guy told me to be quite while he read the complaint then if I had any questions he would answer them. He stated that I had defrauded a bank by getting an online lone, which I never did, and that I was going to go to jail. I hung up on him and he called right back and wanted to know why I hung on up on him and I told him it was a scam and he started yelling that I needed to be home tomorrow to be arrested and spend 21 days in jail, hung up on him again and then Googled this number and here I am.

- Badge714 replies to BeckyThere is one thing you did that we can't seem to get everyone else to do - Hang up, & do not call the number back. It's a scam. You knew it, I know it. If people would look numbers up online FIRST, and not just automatically call them back. The only weapon these criminals have is to phone you & talk to you. If you don't talk to the foreign 3rd world scammers - they can't scam you. Right?
- Pat replies to CWG40I received twelve calls today from the same number. What was scary was they repeated my SSN wanting me to verify. I told them that it was not my number and whatever they needed to do just do it and do not call me anymore. I called the Attorney General of my state and reported what happened. Was told to monitor my credit report and do not answer the number.
