I received a phone call yesterday, leaving me a message to call back ASAP....or my Attorney.  I need to take care of this matter in which i owe a payday loan.  I did call back this morning....asking them questions when was this taken out, where it was done, and the dollar amount???  He could not give me any info on the case, he was an attorney with the company. his name is Justin Murphy with an Indian accent!  Said all he could tell me was i need to pay $786.25 today or the police was going to my employer if not there would come to my house so i can be arrested!! When hearing all this,,,its scarry!! He gave me until today 3:00pm my time in California....when he is calling me from Tennessee.... And i think he said this by accident, American Cash Service, handed them my account...so i looked them up and they have scam reports also not recognized by the BBB Agency!! So i did call the BBB and gave them my story and the lady said Red Flags are up....  I did take a loan out but paid them back ....with a different company...not american cash services.  I did call them back and say to come down with hard copies (paper) work and if i owe i will make arrangement....  They are saying i STOLED FROM THEM!! Thats why i will be arrested!! And if that happens i will have to pay over $8000 in fines..... wow...unbelievable!  He even said Good Luck in your Life!  

I got the same call today saying exactly the same thing.

Got a call did not answer leaving threatening messages saying pretty much the same as above.  I have no clue who these people are but it's not good to say the least. It's sickening that we have no privacy as American citizens but to be bothered and stalked by liars and thieves. I'm sick of it.  

I got the same call today they really freaked me out while I was at work saying if I didn't pay 854 dollars I would be arrested with fines up to 7000 dollars. I can't believe people think it's ok to do this and scare people. If I hadn't been smart enough to ask questions I would have been doused.

Common scam originating in India.  You can't stop the calls but you can protect yourself with a call blocker.

Caller called my joy said he was from a lawfirm and I need to call this number ASAP, I've had calls like this threatening the caller threaten me with an arrest warrant, the police would come to my job to assrest me.

I have also received these call stating I will be arrested from my work place tomorrow.  It is very irritating and they do not quit@!!  They also left voicemails on my work number.

Received no less than 15 calls today from this number.  When I finally answered some one named Jack Leo wanted my attorneys information because of a legal case that had been filed under my name and ssn with the Attorney General's Office of the United States.  I told them to stop calling and hung up on them.  Got to work and they had left a message with my job.  The message stated it was a legal emergency.  I work for a Sheriff's Department.

I got the same message from a Frank who said that if he doesn't hear from me he can only wish me good luck as the situation unfolds on me.

Got one just a few minutes ago from them,  was told something very similar, I was suipposedly put through to an attorney who read what was the affidavit,, stating I( was being put under investigation for violation af U S banking law violations and checking fraud,  That all this stemmed from not repaying a loan from AMERICAN CASH SERVICES, the problem is that I have never heard of that company, nor have I borrowed any money from any lenders in the last 14 years except one in the last month for a very small amount.  and that is current!  I then told him that this was the strangest way I have ever heard of to do this, since it is normal for the person under investigation to only find out about it when an arrest is being made. I told him to do what was best I am in Colorado not Tennessee, andif the US DoJ wants me I am not hard to find,  ID'd it as a SCAM within seconds of receiving the call. If they want me bring it on!

I received a similar phone call from a man with an Indian accent. He was demanding I pay $498.26 or I would be arrested tomorrow at my job and would have to then pay $8,000 in legal fees. When I mentioned that he has been reported to BBB and FTC as a scam he became irate and hung up on me. The message I had received at work was to call Steve Robbins law firm immediately. When I called the # it was answered very unprofessionally.

The message was saying  that  I needed  to call back immediately.....it was a time sensitive matter and  if I  didn't  call back, they would procede with an investigation...I looked this up  and reported it  on   the BBB website.

Same m.o. Threats of jail over ann imaginary debt? The must still have debtors prison in his country!? Good luck with your endeavor "Sahib" !!!!! What he doesn't know, I'm from the town he is calling from and I have some well connected contacts. Maybe someone will pay him a visit?!

No one here is calling you.   A call blocker is your best bet.

I received the same call today!!  I wonder how he got all my information.  Glad to see I wasn't the only one being called

Called me on my work phone..I advised him I don't know him and to stop calling my work number.  He stated that it would be called several days going forward just to bother me.  He stated that he would be reporting this to my employer..I told him I own this business...so how can I fire myself and that I was recording this phone call.  He then told me I was lying and God bless me for the wrath that is coming down on me.  I just hung up...was about to call them back and go hard on the first person who answered but it isn't worth my time or effort. I don't owe anyone anything.

Same exact story line I received. I asked the gentleman to give me a Cause No. for "my case" and he didn't even know what a cause no. was. He stated he was a legal assistant working for the Turner Lawfirm. I have over 15 years experience in all legal field and once I addressed my knowledge of such he hung up on me.
