I didn't speak to them.  The call came in while I was not at home.  They didn't leave a message, but the call showed up on Caller ID.

This is a Nashville based company and is of no service to me.   My number 615-666-3502 and cell number is listed on the do not call registry.  If I try to call the above number back there is no one there.   I am tired of being harassed by this number and and/or organization.  If they are interested in donations or tired of their job then they should change jobs.   The so called terrorist or Mexicans do not harass people like this outfit.   I once got a recording and requested that they stop calling my number but it seems they do not hear well.  Therefore, this leaves me no alternative other than to complain to all the places I can including News media.   Maybe if these people were relieved of this job and had to find another or sent to Iraq it would help.   At least in Iraq they might be useful instead of a nuisance.

Regularly get calls from these people, but have never been home to answer.  They leave no messages.

Started getting lots of these type calls after signing up for the "do not call" list.  Makes you wonder.

Found this number on my caller ID. I am also on the do not call list. It says Police Protection. I will not be giving any donations to the Police due to the fact that I live in Maryville, Tn and our taxes have went through the roof for Police Protection. When you need them it takes an hour sometimes for them to show up. Then they tell you they did not see anything so they cannot do anything. Don't call me, I'll call you!

My teenage son took the call at 4pm while I was asleep - they asked for me, and when he told them I was asleep they hung up with no message. We're also on the Do Not Call list.

Another name shows up on reverse search replies to Bill Taylor
    Police Protective Fundwork

I got this address when I reverse-searched the phone number -- not the name Bill found. Could these scammers be spoofing with the phone numbers of innocent people?

Rec'd call from 615-383-4260.  From the "Police Protective Fund."  They wanted to send me a sticker showing my support of the police.  The individual also indicated that the fund provided $10,000 insurance to police officers that have been hurt in the line of duty.  I asked is the caller was a paid solicitor -- she said no.  When I asked her what % of the funds raised go towards programs expenses vs. fundraising expenses she said that I could obtain that information from policeusa.com.  Based on the information that I received I can only deduce that this so-called charity is either a scam or is simply providing employment opportunities to fund raising companies.

My sitter received this call when I was not home, she asked to take a message and the caller hung up on her.  I *69 the number and it came up as 615-383-4260. I tried to call it back and got a message that the mail box of "Police Protected" phone is full.

Same the others. I also checked and realise it is a scam. I wonder what who happen if a crowd of people that have received these calls showed up at their work place.   Another thing that would be interesting is, if a few people answered those telemarketer ads in the Clasified Ads and caused trouble there.

Called around 615pm and I happened to be by the phone and was able to answer on first ring but as soon as I said "Hello" there was a click on the other end....whoever it was hung up.  I am also on the Do Not Call List.

I was called but left no message. I am very glad that websites like this are out there!

To D, you have got something and so does everyone else that has actually answered to hear a click or more. If a caller calls and hangs up during the second ring, there is no trace on the callers side. When the first ring happens, during the silence the ASCII code is transferred which shows the caller ID, then the second ring begins. That is how it always works. I know this because I was harrassed by a caller that would call while I was at work and just let it ring twice. I was never able to pick up to establish connection which could lead to charges. I ended up taking photos of the caller ID so I could prove the calls were coming. You can check the phone workings at Howstuffworks.com. That's where I learned about it.

Congress has failed to act. I get calls often now despite the fact that I am on the do not call list. There are websites that allow for false caller ID. It's called "caller ID spoofing". Here is a link to a USA Today article about it http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/2006-03-01-caller-id_x.htm. ID spoofing is a form of identity theft and should be protected as such. It's not. Elderly are being scammed regularly. Imagine, Your banks caller ID shows up. You answer, the calling person asks for personal information such as SS# so as to securely discuss your mortgage. You tell them. In reality it is a scammer using "caller ID spoofing". You have been phished. Congress needs to act and act yesterday with a hammer fist. Caller ID spoofing is not a joke or harmless prank. It is identity theft with devastating results.

This individual solicited a donation, identifying himself as "Joe" and saying he was from the Police Protection Fund. I asked for his name and a callback number, and the number I was given to call back was 877-493-2200. When I called that number, I got a recorded message with some vague information about a Police Protection organization. I have received calls in the past and the number seemed to be basically a scam; I doubt that it is any different this time.

Have received repeated calls from this number.  When I call the number back I either get a recorded message or it says that the box is full.  Claims to be a charitable donation called "Police Protection."
