Called my landline and hung up before the voicemail picked up.

Don't know who this is. No message left. I never pick up.

Said he was somebody from the Nashville firefighters associated.  I told him I was at work and hung up.  I assumed he was asking for contribution.

why would you hang up on your local firefighters? Little brash don't you think. even if they were asking for support. I guarantee if you called 911 they wouldn't hang up on you.

Calls from the Nashville Firefighters Assoc. are professional telemarketers.. I am surprised that someone would think the fireman are actually calling..The fireman realize very little of any income these so called professional fund raisers raise..Just ask them to send you a financial statement as to how much the firefighters get and let me know if you ever get one...

These guys are scammers; please don't believe they have anything to do with real firefighters.  Get real!!!

Called my land line and left a message that it was regarding a confidential matter. Requested a call back. When I called the number, it had been disconnected.

One very good reason to hang up is because there are so many scammers out there and I would never donate money over the phone...other reason- Nashville Fire fighters do not need to get donations over the phone , that is NOT how they are funded !!! DA

A few things:
1) You are correct there are A LOT of scams out there.
2) The Nashville Firefighters Local 140 has for over 30 years held bi-annual concerts to raise funds for local programs, this is marketed via telephone to local citizens.
3) We NEVER have and NEVER will accept or request money over the phone. Everything is mailed to the customer FIRST (including the tickets) before payment is received. The payment is made directly payable to the Nashville Firefighters, mailed directly back to us here in Nashville. This is not a donation.

You know financial statements are public record right? You can do the research your self. In the time it took you to bash something you obviously know nothing about, you could have already found out lol

If you were legit, you'd know there's no "Donaldson" in Tennessee - there's a "Donelson."
If you're not paid well enough to do your job, quit and find a new one. I spent 26 years in the US Army and I never had a telemarketer bother people crying for money and donations.

You're a schmeckle. There's a whole lot of difference between doing a job you're paid well for, and then begging for money with random and annoying phone calls.

Only the financial statements of publicly traded are required to be available to the public. You are astonishingly stupid!
