Scammer called as Lt. Tommy Donelson, of the Williamson Cty. Judicial Security Office. Said I didn't report for Jury Duty, 2 Class C warrants on me, they would issue Bench Warrant today for me if I did not pay fine and schedule court day immediately. Gave real address for Sheriff Office and real phone number. Did not get to the part where he wanted me to transfer money because we were willing to go to the station and pay. Found out that it was bogus when we got there.

Oh wow! You actually drove to the police station to pay!
Wow oh wow! Its hard to believe people fall for this crap!
Any Random stranger calling you on the phone
for Any reason, for any claim no matter what it is
Its a SCAM. The scammer will tell you anything just to
get your money. Good thing you did drive in person to the station
and find out its a scam.
I wouldn't need to do that myself. I'd know its a scam right off...
my first clue would be - Random stranger calling me on the phone!
Because No Legit caller is going to demand money on the phone
and start making threats. That's bogus. Only scammers do that.
And its illegal to harass and make threats to get money - theres your next clue.

Be a little more compassionate! A lot of us here have been dealing with frauds for years. We understand that it's fear & intimidation that drives the victims of fraud. They're not stupid! They're naïve. They are people who have been blessed with lives free of what makes us aware of the scum out there. They've never encountered what we think is so common place.
Ignorance is not a derogatory term. It describes an unawareness. I can only wish I could be ignorant of many things. If I was unaware of a lot of things, and had no reason to be aware of them, I would be a far happier person. Would that make me stupid?
We're here to help. Not belittle. We care. The innocent, the naïve, those that haven't been blessed with the education that has been afforded us.... They are the people that I care most about. They are my brothers, my sisters.
I despise frauds & scammers with a passion that only the regulars here can even partially comprehend. I will do what I need to do. But, I always try to remind myself of why I'm doing it. I know it's right.

yes, we drove there, no way we would have paid anything over the phone but he was good and had so much correct info, next time we will know better. This particular scam was a first for me, I was not aware of it. So glad you are so smart. Maybe one day I will be that smart. Thanks for the encouragement.
