Possible hacker!!! Caller stated they were from Microsoft about an error message my computer sent them. Wanted to know if my computer was there in front of me.

Gotten in the last few days and when I answer no one is there. Get this late in the afternoon during the weekdays.

Called at 9:33AM.  Did not answer (Unknown Name). No message left.

was teleworking when this call came in. caller had a strong accent and was trying to say something about a problem with my computer... then wanted me to sit at my computer and walk through something. I asked for a number to call back and they wouldn't give me one. Said they were with Microsoft. I say it sounds like a really lame hacker. They said they would call back and I told them not to bother.

Call came through with caller id indicating Rutherford, CO but listing says TN. Definite scam!!!

scam.  I kept telling them to take me off their list and that they were a scam.  Caller tried to assure me they were from Microsoft.  I finally just hung up

Got the same Microsoft Windows call about needing to go to a third party site and download there software. SAid it was ok since they were Windows. Finally told them to stop calling but still get 1-2 calls every day and they just hang up now when I pick up.

Just got the call. I told the guy that my computer was in the basement in a closet still in the shipping box. But I could get it and set it up. He said ok - he could wait while I did this. I only kept him on the phone for about 6 minutes. I was trying to real work and not laugh at the same time.

Received two calls this morning saying they are calling from Microsoft Windows... SCAM

This # appears so frequently and I'm tired of it !!!  How do I block this ????

They call and either don't say anything then hang up or they say their from the windows technical department calling about my computer.  I can barely understand a word they say because their accent is so strong.  I have repeatedly said do not call me.  They usually hang up on me.  They have called me 5 times in the last 3 days.  If I try to call the number back it says it's disconnected or no longer in service. I want this calls to STOP!

Most of these calls are coming from India and Pakistan. The best way at this point and best defense is to look into a call blocking device (1500) or a call blocking phone (250).

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:

I'm not selling for them but you might consider ooma.com as your phone provider.  They have an excellent public and private block list.  Private being for adding numbers like 615-494-4507.  The caller gets the famous "<Tone>I'm sorry but the number you called has been disconnected or is no longer in service...".  Phone spammers will remove your number as soon as they can since they are now wasting time calling you.  I was a Vonage customer for years and finally ditched them when they refused to implement any kind of block list (they may now as far as I know).  I still get a very occasional spam call but it's a rare occurrence now.  615-494-4507 called me several times over a couple days before I got around to adding it to my personal black list.

Just received a phone call from this number and when I called back it said phone number is not in operation. What the HELL is going on. This is a SCAM call. If you call again I will report you thru the BBB.
