Harassing phone calls

No message, just some numbers.  I actually answered it and it prompted me to dial 1 if it was me.  Not a real debt collector, they would identify themselves on the front end - example:  This is Chase Visa calling for John Smith.  Even if it was automated!  I feel sorry for the people who actually pay these people money - because they probably can't afford to pay their bills anyway.  I know I live paycheck to paycheck and know exactly who I owe what for this very reason.  If I am going to be late on a payment, I call them ASAP.

How in the world do you get them to stop.... They have called my ex wife and her mom looking for me? I owe nothing at all in debt free please help

Keep calling even though they are told they have the wrong person

Received a call from this number and left some charge number on voicemail and sometimes a number to call back and others just a "number is thank you" So I redialed it and got a guy on the phone who knew who I was immediately. Claimed to be a "mediation specialist" from some company and he was working a file which I supposedly took out a pay day loan in 2011. Had an old bank name, last 4 of my social an incorrect email address. I have received these calls before and each time I tell them "I would like verification in writing before I will discuss this with you". He refused, said he was not a collection agency and consumer protection laws did not apply to him and said they had sent me the information via email. When I remained adamant he said that "he would not that I refused to work with them and I obviously do not want to pay my debts". I would up hanging up. I am sick to death of these scammers always a different number, different company but same story. I guess I will be making yet another complaint to the FTC
