Caller calls at least four times each day but does not leave a message. When I returned the call, the message says that "voice mail has not been set up."

Caller calls multiple times a day...When I answer they say nothing and if I don't answer the do not leave a message. When I returned the call, the message says that "voice mail has not been set up."

Same here. 3 calls over past two days. ID: "Cell Phone TN". Not going to answer as usual.

It seems as though the Feds and telcos are more concerned about red-herring communication issues. Many (most?) US-based telemarketers have seen the writing on the wall and generally follow the DNC law, at least that's been my experience over the years. It's the outright criminal elements worldwide who are doing the most damage. Unfortunately, they are mostly ignored by those who could stop them simply because no one in industry or government wants to allocate the resources (money & technology) to stop them.

Interestingly, when the subject of unwanted calls came up recently within the FCC it was mostly about the relatively minor numbers of accidental calls from legitimate companies and organizations. Of course that makes political sense to those in power - the supposed perps are large, known entities - easy to extract penalties from.

Meanwhile, those who could make a difference seemingly don't care about the larger dangers which are costing many innocents who don't know better lots of money - namely the spoofed phish/scam/fraud calls. Add in the irritating fact that the current Do-Not-Call law excludes so-called "survey" organizations (most of whom are mass marketing harvesters) and the intensely irritating political calls, 90% of which are robo calls. What a joke. It's just more of the same - laws written to benefit lawmakers rather than citizens.

I get 1 or 2 calls a day from this number.  It has been happening for the last week to 10 days.  No one will say anything when I answer and if I'm not at home no message is left on my answering machine.  When I call the number I also get a message that "voice mail has not been set up".  I'm going to use my "call blocking" today to prevent getting any more calls from this number.  I had been hoping someone would eventually say something, but them won't.
