- Bongo Bob| 6 repliesWhile unemployed, I had resumes posted on the major job sites; monster, indeed, careerbuilder, simplyhired, etc. Even though my resume reflects absolutely no sales or insurance experience, I'd get calls from these d-bags wanting me to be an insurance salesman. I removed the resumes over a year ago when I started my own business, but occasionally I still get these calls wanting to recruit me for insurance sales. I wondered why they'd be so interested in somebody with no sales or insurance experience, so I asked my own agent about it. He said they want me precisely because I don't have any experience. I wouldn't have the experience to know that the policies I would be trying to sell are complete crap. They "hire" you, & then encourage you to sell policies to your family & friends. Your family & friends trust you, they know you've been looking for work & want to help, so they buy the policies. But the policies are long-term crap. That's how the company makes their money. They get you to lock all your family & friends into long-term crap policies. But the policies are so bad, nobody else will buy them. So when you run out of family & friends, you run out of viable leads. Then you stop making any money, & you quit. But the company doesn't care because they have all your family & friends locked into long-term policies, & they just move on to the next desperate job-seeker. American business at its absolute worst. Avoid these charlatans like the plague.

- Looking for Work replies to Bongo BobThank you, Bongo Bob for the information. I just started receiving calls from them today. I appreciate knowing that it is a bunch of crap, and not worthy of my time and energy.
- J.F Muggs replies to Bongo BobJust got my first voicemail from them today. No experience what so ever and they still called me.
Thanks for the heads up - Not that desperate MikGot my first call today. Background sounds like a call center. Nothing wrong with call centers, but I would rather get a call from someone who actually hires people.

- Kelly replies to DeeJust got a message from these losers. Watch out everyone...same number still calling to hook some suckers!
- Jacob replies to Bongo Bob| 3 repliesIt's unfortunate that you believe this and that your "agent" who makes a living off every single policy coded to him told you this. Just like realtors must get licensed and make a living based on houses they sell or find for a buyer, insurance agents must get licensed by the state and make their living based on what they sell, and in the case of American Income Life, which has been around for 50+ years, not one time in the years I have been with the company has someone suggested I try to get my friends and family to start a policy with me. In truth, I have never needed to because AIL doesn't "cold call" or require agents to purchase "leads." If you did any actual research you would find that we only service union members, that of which REQUEST our service. I am very upset at reading your negative comments because as an formally educated individual that was going through tough financial times, I took a chance when receiving one of these so called spam calls and came in for an interview. It was not what I expected because it was a group interview, yet much better in that the managers explained everything about what I would be doing and how much I could make. It sounded like it was too good to be true. I have been with AIL for 3 years now and in 2015 ytd I've earned close to 160k. Next year I hope to double if not triple that. Being that my degrees are in education, I never imagined I would be doing something so completely different and be where I am today. I have seen lives changed in this company. Next time you want to leave a negative review about a career with a company you know nothing about, try educating yourself first before subjecting other people to your own fear of the unknown.
