It's MEEMIC auto doing a follow up

I just received a call from this number 616-426-2000. It is a market research firm based out of California, I promptly hung up just hearing "We are a market research firm based in California" , how the heck do they use a Grand Rapids Michigan area code?

I received a text from this number that said, "Hi, how are you?". Weird that others have said it's a telemarketer and they received calls not texts.  I did not respond to the text.

Received two calls from this number today, 7/19/17. First one was on the house phone. Didn't answer it. Immediately got the same call on my cell phone so I answered. Guy said he represented some insurance company I never heard of. I hung up. Have had calls from this number in the past but never answered before. Won't happen again.

Are you sure it is meemic? because I gave them my name. is that unsafe for me?

Called, didn't leave a message. Others on here state Meemic Ins. This is an insurance company for teachers and their families, I have a policy with them. Currently wee have an open claim after a not at fault accident, so it could very well be a follow up, but since they didn't leave a message, I can't say.

I also have a recent auto accident claim with Meemic Insurance.  It seems strange that this caller would not leave a message if it was in regard to this claim.

I keep getting calls from this number.  They do not leave a message so I'm not 100% sure who it is.  After seeing the comments on here, I am guessing it is Meemic.  We have an open claim with them and I would love to give them a review.  Filed the claim last Tuesday and still have not seen an adjuster.  :(  Not great claim service!  In search of a new carrier!

This is NOT Meemic. It is a telemarketing firm. The message that answers says that they are located in San Diego. The area code appears as if it is in Michigan.
