- JGwhoever has this number texted me out of the blue complaining about dry food at a resturant I recommended? Don't know anyone in the 616 area code period.
- Britt| 1 replyTexted me complaining about dry food at a resturant I recommended asking that I pay for it.
- WendyGot the same text. My guess is it's some kind of a phishing scam where they're hoping you text back asking who they are so that they know it's a live number
- sI got the same message!
- stold him I had found this site and he said he had texted 15 numbers from memory because his phonebook was deleted...
- Random TexterDidn't realize I raised such a fuss with texting.. I'm def not a phising scam or a company. I apologize if my text has caused any inconvenience. Obviously you have my number so if you get a text frm me again, just call or text back and I'll see where I went wrong.
Have a good day. - AGot that text too. Creeper
- Annoyed in Vancouver, WAI got the same text about the restaurant. Dude must be so bad he is "forgetting" phone numbers from across the US.
- * replies to BrittI just got the same text, wtf?
- AdviceI also received texts as well. You are not calling people whose numbers you have forgotten...unless at least 15 people recommended you to the same restaurant, and you went 15 times even though their food is dry. Try going to a different restaurant.
- another for my dont answer list...texted me about holiday and staying focused, and I texted it back nice message but who is this...? the number texted me back several hours later saying "this is andre, sorry i want to make sure i sent the message to the right person... who did i txt?!..." I paraphrased this because I have deleted the messages and marked it as a dont answer number...
- Jared| 1 replyI live in the 616 areacode and received a text... I thought it might have been a friend or something. Mine was also about the Holiday and 2010 being the best year. Stay encouraged.
Well, I guess I am relieved to know its not a friend I "forgot"... but it sucks to know that the message that made me smile so far this winter break was a spam message. - SallyGot the same text....somebody has too much time on their hands!!
- mchristmas greetings
- foxTEXT -CHRISTMAS scam MESSAGE for 2010 ,, who ever this is pay for the text & leave me alone or you will be eatting your phone
- Caller: unknow
- kdt| 1 replyReceived a text that said "Hope Christmas was good & your new year is better"
- D replies to kdtGot a similar message from this number.
"Hope Christmas was good & your New Year is better! `09 is alsmost daone & as 2010 comes, hold your head high, be encouraged & make "it" happen
Happy Holidays."
I have no idea who it is; and I left it alone. - NATwo people in my family got the text and we really want to know who is doing this and what they hope to accomplish. (the Christmas/new year message)
- Still annoyed. It is some lonely freak who claims to live on Alpine near Star Theater in York Creek apartments. Whether that is true or not, I don't know. They texted me last week, and then they texted someone I know TODAY while I was with them.
This person likes to claim they lost their phonebook. They are probably some hospitalized idiot.
Also claims to be 28 male working for children in the court system. Doubt that too. Could be a prison inmate that got a hold of a cell phone somehow (whether cell phones work in prison, haven't actually been there to find out).
Stay away from me and my family, creep.
How ridiculous would it be though, if it were a psychology student at one of the local universities trying to conduct a study on people's reactions to random "friendly" messages?
I don't think it takes a rocket scientist to conclude that people don't welcome strangers making random attempts of communication with them, friendly or not. - still annoyed....I am calling the FTC about it Monday anyway. Unless someone already has?
