I am sick and tired of these harrassing calls;they call up to 5 times a day, every-day even though they have been told to stop! First we told them to send us a bill or some other type of verification and gave them our adress to do so and were told that they don't have to. We are trying to figure out if this is a scam, and if if it is we all need to bring them to justice! Please help!

These fools started calling for me at every place I've lived. They are at the point of harassment.  I asked "what's this about"    Their response "This is a personal business matter" and "Am I speaking with (name here) born on (year here)".     I am reporting them to the BBB, and if they call again, I will be forwarding all recorded calls to my attorney and pressing harassment charges.

This number belongs to Allied Collection Group.  The don't seem to know that laws, If you request verification they have to send it to you, and until you verify that yoou owe this money they cannot call you, at all by law, and if they do report them.

i got a clever call from them they tried to get me to make a payment on some credit card bill that was over 10 years old. i looked up the laws pertaining to limitations. never ever pay any money on some thing past limitations. it will renew the debt because limitations goes from the point of the last payment not the point you used your card last. it's called renewing old debt.

I keep getting calls from this number. I've picked up a few times and asked them to send me a physical bill, and they say they can't because they don't have a mailing system or something. They won't send me a bill or even an email. They say the only thing they can send is a fax. I'm not cool with giving my credit card info over the phone to someone that can't verify anything. It seems super shady to me.

Tell them no debt validation, no debt. It's that simple.

Great advice posted by an attorney on:
    https://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-718-732-0174

"IF they do not provide you with the verification of the debt, the debt is invalid and not subject to collection.  PAY NOTHING TO ANYBODY UNLESS THEY PROVIDE YOU WITH WRITTEN VERIFICATION OF THE DEBT, AND ONLY THEN IF YOU FEEL THE DEBT IS VALID - otherwise, let them sue you for the debt, as a real law firm will only bring a legal action on a truly valid debt".

Got a call on my cell from these people, greeted with an automated voice asking me to hold on while they connected me. After 3 cycles of "please hold while I connect you" and almost a minute of my time, I hung up. My friend told me to Google the number and I'm so glad I did - so now they are blocked on my phone. I'm sure they use other numbers though, most of these shady people do. However, as a single person, I have an ironclad rule "IF YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE THE NUMBER, DON'T ANSWER IT!" for my phone. Anyone legitimate will leave a message, the rest of them can call till hell freezes over and I will never answer their calls. Try using your Caller ID feature - there's no law that says you HAVE to answer your phone! That's a really simple way of making sure you never talk to another telemarketer or bogus collection agency again. And it's free! Hope this helps someone out there -

I have recieved numerous calls asking if I am and was I born. So. I asked what their business is the guy said Alide Business. He would not tell me why he is calling  unless I verified my name and birthdate. Well I informed him that it is against the law for any business to call not knowing who they are speaking to and give the.unknown person someones personal information. If this is a collection agency they are in violation of the fair debt collection practices law. I use.tiff be a debt collector.I then informed him not to ever call me again and that I am blocking the number.

Ditto to all of the above. Actually called me looking for my spouse. I asked repeatedly what this was about and they said it was a "personal matter." She then asked if I was related to her, I said yes, this is her spouse. She asked for my name, I again asked her why she was calling and she hung up. I feel better after reading the above ...

Someone wrote a funny article about them in the paper:  http://www.hollandsentinel.com/article/20130601/NEWS/306019989
They treat their fellow criminals well:  http://www.mlive.com/business/west-michigan/i ... zeelands_a.html

They claim to be licensed in Michigan, but I can’t find any license numbers at the state agency.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
Read up on your rights here, get template letters to send and also make a complaint at this government site:  http://www.consumerfinance.gov/
Also file a complaint with your State Attorney General's office.
