They call and tell you the last 4 digits of your credit card number but not identifying who they are with.  Saying they want to help you lower your interest rate to 2.99%.  Of course that made me suspicious right there.  Turns out the 4 digits were those of an old credit card that is no longer useable.  I called the real credit card company and they said that even though they have that old number that it can't be used since it is no longer an active number.  I think they are just trying to fish out more information to gain access to your accounts or mother's maiden name, date of birth, or any other info they could use to steal your identity.

I got a call from this number, and it was a recording that said it was from Mark at MCS Credit Card Company or Services, I don't remember which one...I started hitting the # key repeatedly once I heard it start because someone from PhoneBusters told me to do that if I get a call that immediately goes into a recording...she said that doing that sometimes will throw off their system and drop your number from their list.
