Caller stated that they were going to charge my credit card for a coupon service. After me repeatedly telling them DO NOT charge my card DO NOT send me your products and DO NOT sign me up for anything, the telemarketer got very rude and disrespectful and called me stupid for not taking their offer. I will be pursuing this and turning them in for credit card fraud if my card is charged. If I can get more people to come forward with the same complaint, we can start a class action law suit. Please send email to GarbinLaw@gmail.com

I got a call from this number as well, and after listening for a while, told them I do not want their service. I eventually had to hang up on the telemarketer, because he would not relent.

If my card is charged, I too will do a follow-up.

    No Scam for Me
@Angi: "Vista" Card Services. They are not affiliated with Visa at all. :(

I admit to giving this scam a portion of my information, (full name+zip) but the frightening thing was they already knew my address, first name and the last four digits of my credit card.

When the offer progressed from a gas rebate to a coupon subscription service that I would "call to cancel" or else be charged, I became extremely suspicious. Additionally, they threw away tidbits about shipping cost. When I was "put on hold" and then "reconnected" to a different telemarketer, and I heard voices in the background, saying my information...I knew I had been had. There was no hold or transfer, someone was just passing the phone to someone else.

They asked me to confirm the last four digits of my credit number...which I had never provided them with. I said I wasn't interested, only to be verbally harassed and abused by the telemarketer. I hung up on him, contacted my bank and told them the story.

They said, if I felt my account had been compromised, that I should close my card and order a new one. To be on the safe side, I did.

I'm still really freaked out about them having this information...these scams are getting out of control. I usually can recognize them, but something about this one slipped by me. Ugh!

I advise anyone who gave this scammers any information, and especially anyone who ordered their subscription service to contact your bank immediately. This is not legitimate. And even if they do send you a package, if you do some online research on phone scams, they often have hidden charges on your account, and charge processing fees to cancel your subscription. Etc.

*hangs head in shame* It sounded like they said Visa!

Well I have been checking my bank account regularly since I chatted with the "Vista" people (I bank online), but I do plan on going to my bank tomorrow to prevent anything bad happening to my account.

Can anyone provide me advise what to tell my bank? Do I give them the full details and tell them if anything comes thru from "Vista Card Services" to block the charge? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks guys <3

    No Scam for Me
    @Angi:
They probably hoped to hook people by choosing a name that sounded like VISA.

I would call the 1-800 number on your bank's site, and try to get to the fraud department (mine didn't have a department that exclusively handled credit fraud, but I'm also at a small bank, so I simply chose to speak with a representative, since they could at least direct me to the right place.) Just give them full details on what happened. They've probably dealt with phone scams before, so they'll know what to do.

Have certain information on hand (your credit card, your recent bank statement, your account # etc.) since depending on the course of action you wish to take, they'll have to verify you're in control of the account.

What concerns me is that, "Vista Card Services" is likely just an alias they operate through, since it sounded to me like they were operating from home or a very, very small business, so if they make fraudulent charges to your account, it may not necessarily say it was from Vista Card Services...but who knows? It's a little early in the game to figure it out.

Either way, I advise contacting your bank, just in case.

I fianlly taled to a person who said they were sending me a package with cupons and gas cards at no cost to me. When I pressed him about charging my credit card he said they will just charge for shipping. I told him that I was not interested and not to send me any thing. He quickly said ok you will receive your order in about 2 weeks. Well, jokes on them because as soon as I got off the phone I called me credit card company and canceled my card that they had. I suggest that everyone does the same. So when they try charing your card the card number will no longer exist.

I got this call on my cell phone. The first thing they ask is "Is this bla bla bla" then they as if you have cc ending in the last 4 which freaked me out...I got some b.s. that they were sending me $125 in free gas because of something and they literally said something I bought online or thru a magazine. I NEVER buy anything online or thru a magazine!! I called my bank right away with them having no info what so ever on them. This is the first sight I have found with any info. 45 minutes later I got another phonecall on cell with a woman this time with the same line of b.s. I asked if she had my whole cc # and she said no and kept telling me it's because I ordered something online/magazine. I have the fraud department at the bank and it's very creapy to know that they had my name and last 4 of my cc on file! Total scam!!

They have been calling me for 3 days and I never answer because they always call when I am at work.  Last night I called the number back and pressed 4 to be deleted off of their list.  They also give you a number to call to do the same thing, but the number does not work.  I have been watching my bank account like a hawk after reading all of these stories but no strange charges have been made.  I think I might call my bank today and see if other people have been taken by this scam.

repeatedly calling my cell phone - no message left.  I googled this number and many people have received calls from this same number - they seem to already have access to personal info when they speak to people.

I just got a phone call from this number claiming to be Northfolk Bank Order confirmation. The thing is North Folk Bank no longer exists!! Good thing is I never gave them any info, but they asked my name and when I asked them to repeat who they are they hung up... I called the number back and it's an voicemail with a crappy automated system. Be on the look out for this possible fraud line!!

I got calls from this phone number a couple of times a day this past week and thankfully did not respond before I investigate who it is from. Thanks to 800notes and all your entries, I know to ignore them.

Does anyone here know if there is an agency where we can report this to? Does the FBI take reports of this kind?

    Beware!!

The company identified themselves as the "Discount Savings Club" and tried to offer me a $120 gas rebate card. I asked how they received my info, and the rep said that I had been put on a rewards list because I made a qualifying purchase recently. They had my credit card number and tried to verify my address so they could charge me $2.95 for the shipping of the card.I refused, but I suspect they will charge my card anyways. Apparently this company goes by a lot of names, "Direct Discount Club", "Leisure Time Saving" and "Savings Club Direct" to name a few and after charging you shipping they tack on random other charges. Sooooooooooo....

    1) DO NOT SIGN UP
    2) You might want to consider freezing your credit card if they verified your address. It's impossible to contact customer service to cancel your "account/subscription"

I just received a call on my cell phone from this number 616-980-7365...I did not answer since I didn't recognize the phone number. I'm glad I looked it up and read all these entries but now I am also worried they could potentially have my cc info.  Isn't there somewhere we can report these numbers to?

Wow how spooky is this just got a call from this number. I however didn't answer. If I don't recognize a number I don't bother answering it. I guess fraud is still alive and kicking.
