This phone number is calling to do fund raising for the Massachusetts Fraternal Order of Police. I have called the number.  It directs you to a customer service department that can answer questions, help you donate, or anything else related to the FOP. Also, there’s information on www.massfop.org. Plus, you can contact them there with any questions or requests.
The FOP is doing a lot of really great things for Massachusetts police officers and the people that call are trying to help them raise money so they can do even more good.

Most of the phone calls asking for donations for police charities are frauds.  They are paid callers, and keep more of your donation than they give to the charity.

I'm not sure about this one, but I wouldn't donate to it, even if I did live in that area.

Also, we are on the DNC list in MA, so they should not be calling!

Got yet another call from them this morning. They are really persistent. This time they used a recorded voice that almost sounded real that said, "Michael? Michael?"

@Snow: We're not falling for it. We know you work for these crooks. We see through your lies.

@not Michael: Snow knows that this is a fraud. He's works for it. Telemarketers regularly post disinformation on these web sites.

@Cat: The number doesn't match the one on the Mass FOP website, because Mass FOP is constantly changing the number they use to get around the number blocking features of many phones and telephone service providers. This is a common telemarketing trick. The use of it makes it pretty clear that this is a scam.

Kept getting calls from them. Told them I did not have $ to donate, that I barely had $ to live off of, let alone give away to jerks. (yes, most cops are jerks). I was told the calls would stop. They didn't. I emailed them. Got a response that my # would be removed and they were so sorry. The calls stopped for about 2-3wks. Now they have started up again. Instead of calling 2-3 times a day at all hours they now call right around 8-8:30AM waking me up. Now its 1-2 times a week. But it always wakes me up. This time I answered. The guy sounded nice, told me who he was said "don't worry you aren't in trouble" I cut him off and told him that I wasn't interested, I'd asked to be removed MANY times, and he continued into his spiel about what they were. I hung up on him. I've been told that they are ALLOWED to call and harass because they are Non-Profit, but I do keep reporting them to the DNC list anyhow.

I get an incredible number of calls from these people.

The caller ID number is always: 617-245-xxxx, where xxxx is constantly changing to get around call blocking. "245" is one of the exchanges that was freed up when the 781 area code split off from 617.

Question: Why would they want to call someone who does not want to speak to them?

Answer:  Because they're professional cons who think they can sleaze-talk you into giving them money, once they get your ear. Never answer the phone for them.

I keep getting calls from this number on a regular basis. It has become extremely annoying because I do not want to talk to these people.

I just got a call from them.  I did not answer because even though their call id doesn't say Fraternal Order of Police, this website did!    Aug8 12:02 PM
