I got a call from this number.  Caller ID said CIATK.  Anyone know what this is?  Doesn't come up in Google.

Call is from cooks illustrated (ci) America's test kitchen (Atk)

As mentioned above, it's cook's illustrated.  Wanted to send a free cookbook, and another book to preview and return if not liked.

Book/ magazine SCAM from Cook's Illustrated/ America's Test Kitchen.

Received a call from CI - ATK - they use another number too: 617-275-5458. That number comes across as "Test Kitchen". I don't answer calls from solicitations, and there was no message left this time. I subscribe to Cooks Illustrated so I assumed that they wanted to sell me additional subscriptions or services (such as their website access).

Strange...I have a subscription for "Cooks"  which is paid.  Can't imagine why they would call and leave no message...

CI ATK also uses another number, 617-830-2209; with Helen's number above that makes at least three.  Can only figure out them calling us due to a lapse subscription to Taste of Home; great magazine but horrendous when it comes to too many begging for buying cook books & SELLING OUT YOUR CONTACT INFO TO PLACES LIKE COOK ILLUSTRATED AND MANY OTHERS.  We have refused to renew the Taste of Home subscription; unfortunately it is a great magazine but marketing promotions are terrible.

Cook's Illustrated has been sending me email offers to "upgrade" my online subscription to include Cook's Country and access to stream past seasons of their TV programs. They should identify themselves more clearly on caller ID if they expect people to answer these calls. In my case they have my landline legitimately. Since they also have my email I will ignore their telemarketing calls. Life is too short.

Thanks for the Info!  Just blocked both numbers.  They want you to buy a cook book that contains the everything identical  to the magazines you received all year.  The difference is, it is all combined in a hard cover.  Makes no sense....They explain that a lot of folks like the hard cover copy.  I figure why pay twice for the same thing.  Also told them to take me off their call list.  Yeah right..... that didn't happen!

For once, It was actually nice to have the call be from a business I actually do business with.  They also called yesterday to offer me a "great deal" for renewing my gift subscriptions for family members.  The offer was more expensive than the offer in the mail last week!  Weird, eh?  Guess I'm not such a "valued customer" after all!

A bunch of telemarketer spammer to STEAL to id and credit card number.  Talk to them, if you wish...

They are not scammers. They're a legit company. I've been doing business with them for over 15 years.

Then hung up on me when I said twice I was on the phone. I also have Cook's magazine when I recalled 617-275-2302 it says a non working number and to call customer service but lists no company name or telephone number.

CIATK is pushing a cook book and you get a "free gift"! Oh joy! Woman that called was brusk and after the Spiel came the Slam and more joy... I'm getting some cook book I don't want. Don't answer 617-275-2302!

Number came up on caller ID. Did not answer and caller left no message. While I do have a subscription to Cooks Illustrated, I have no desire for further solicitations via phone - I already receive an abundance of eMails from these folks.

These people are calling several times a week.   If in fact this is a legitimate business I'd hope that these nuisance calls would persuade many subscribers to cancel.   I know that my wife will now.   At the very least they should be courteous and leave a message and number to call back if it does involve a renewal to the mag.
