Keeps calling

It isthe  number for First National Collection Bureau

this number keeps calling, but when i answer no one speaks.  Caller ID lists call as: Massachusetts

Number belongs to a real business (locksmith).  They aren't the one calling you. Someone else is using the number and it's a scam.

Calling my work number. No one speaks and I hang up. Annoying.

have called many times-no. appears to be legit but no locksmith an hour away is repeatedly going to dial a wrong no. and get my residence. never leave a message and we are on the dnc list. some kind of scam

Keeps calling work number. I answered once and there was silence. I kept saying hello. Nothing. I don't answer anymore. No messages are left. I'm in Massachusetts at a hospital.

How did you find out? They're calling our department work number. I don't think many have this number listed in any directories.

There are about 30 different phone numbers making hang-up calls coast to coast, on behalf of someone using the name "First National".  Look up 512-539-0062 for another example.  The numbers are all faked to make it look like they are coming from the same state as you, but if you call the number back and wait on hold for a while you can probably confirm that it is the same group.  Obviously DO NOT give them your name or any co-worker's name.  Do you have a security department at work that can deal with issues with like this for you?

This number called my cell earlier. I have an app called CM Security it told me that it was a scam right away. Great app for distinguishing who's calling you.

because i called them.  they are a bunch of scammers who's job it is to buy dead debts for pennies and try to get people to believe we owe them when in fact these debts have been long since dead and buried.  that is why when you first call them, they dont identify their company.  they are scammers.  and it doesnt matter if your number is listed or not, i have never listed my number and never had an outstanding debt yet they got my number somehow.  they can find anyone.

Answered call, but there was complete silence.

We have received over over 25 calls from this number this week alone-617-275-5772.  Does anyone know how to stop these calls?  They call day and night and never leave a message, but they do allow the call to go to voice mail.

Yes, thes people call us at home all the time saying we owe them money.  My Dad and Mom work very hard and don't owe anyone money.  They scare me.

I know how to, but it depends on if you're able to miss all phone calls from unknown numbers. Make sure they're getting a number that only rings and has NO answer. A live voice is necessary for them, most gain little by leaving messages. You probably won't stop all calls, but you can certainly cut back by letting the phone ring. No kind of answer offers callers NOTHING.

Thanks for the tip, John. Once I installed CM Security and enabled Call Management I looked at my history and it retroactively marked the call from this number as "Fraud." This will make it much easier to see who's calling, as I usually just don't answer when I get calls I don't recognize.
