We got a call from this number yesterday, August 22, at 4:02 pm. The caller ID was POLITICAL CALL, but it was really a telemarketer. When I called back I heard a recording thanking me for doing so and giving me the option of being removed from their calling list for "special promotions". It's another number to be added to our call blocker.

This doesn't surprise me. In the future, do not return calls from unfamiliar callers. It only confirms your number to them and often increases the number of calls received.

By default our own number is blocked when we call, so there is no way they can identify it. To my knowledge only the police and fire departments, in addition to the telephone company, can see it

At this day and age of technology, I would not assume any number is same.

I stepped out to run an errand for 40 minutes.  When I came back and was about to place a call, this number showed up on CID.  NO msg left.  I can only wonder Whom/What they want, but it is now BLOCKED.

Other calls/numbers with similar MO are 617-546-0847; 617-456-0847 (no spoofing going on with THESE two numbers! HA!);
617-960-0804; 617-914-8509; 617-727-3200; 617-405-4089.

ALL of these were UNWANTED, UNKNOWN, and, probably PHONY, SPOOFED numbers from CRIMINAL TELEMARKETERS.  Because, if these people are calling us, KNOWING that MOST people - like us - are on the DNC list, then they are, simply put, CRIMINALS, whether they are here in this country or overseas.

Called my home 2 Times in under a minute.  First time it only rang once,  2nd time (seconds later) they called again & I answered.  No one was there.

The recording said it was Patricia Saint Aubin running for Massachusetts state auditor. She also said that her campaign paid for the call.I did not give prior authorization for Ms. Aubin's campaign to call me. It's bad enough that unscrupulous scammers call my house every day but for someone running for office???? (I shouldn't be surprised in this state) She should be personally reprimanded. I, of course, will not vote for her now.

Carrier is Level 3 no name in caller ID it make me sick to think a politician would sink so low to be calling senior citizen I just had a heart attack a week ago and I thought it was my doctor calling me back I been having chest pains. I tell you one thing she will not be getting my or my loved ones vote dam it. and I will be calling the Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito...

In the past few months getting call from 617-379-1822 after some investigating it appears that someone is using an old number from Central Square dentistry Cambridge, MA appears as Dorchester MA on caller ID. Or it could be a former employee. Report to FCC link is on the do not call list.  I have blocked the call.  When you call the number it says it you want to remove from list press 1 don't bother that is a phony voice mail, it is a man's voice, oddly now that I think about it I think they are using another number I have blocked.

I don't usually pick up nos I don't recognize but being in the process of responding to used car listings - I did on this occasion but without actually speaking; I waited.  It was a robo-call asking me to take a political survey that would only take about  minute.  Their first question "are you a man or a woman?" did not get  a human response from me so they repeated it twice and without a warm body input - they hung up.

I'm guessing, since local elections are soon upon us, it is a number that floats between functions and is currently being used to find out info on Boston residents.  Robo-callers bring out the robo-listener in me and I don't tend to offer up real time and input.

Caller ID just says MASSACHUSETTS; no voicemail left. Two strikes, you're out, scammer!

Political calls are exempt under the do not call law ..just as charities, no matter how dubious they are. Register as an independent in MA and the calls cease.

ROBO calls from Gov. Baker and his gal pal, Polito, in behalf of State Committee members in todays primary election. Just the same old B S from our corrupt elected officials

Uh, what?  In MA it "unenrolled" not "independent" and enrolling this way actually increases calls due to the politicians who want your vote.  Why would a DEM candidate call an enrolled Dem voter in a state where 78% of the government seats are held by Dems.  Makes no sense...

We also got this call 3/1/16, Primary Day, while we were away on vaca.  Had it BLOCKED since August 2014, so they couldn't leave a message. HA!  We absentee voted before we left.  This call would not have made any difference one way or the other!  Just logging in here to add to the number of complaints against them.
