Calls listed on my phone but never leave a message????  Why do they bother to call?

They left a message for me yesterday, but I inadvertently erased it before hearing it. So...I called the number...it's a "Romney for President"  call center.

I made the mistake of answering this call - it was a recording of Mitt Romney, inviting me to stay on the line to speak to him personally;  I stayed on to request that my number be removed from their call list - instead, they hijacked my phone line!  I heard him speak for several minutes during which I was unable to disconnect the call - after he finished I had the option to get in line to ask him questions, but still I was unable to disconnect.  I was trying to make an outgoing call - but I could not get dialtone, just the "Romney show" - it was 5-6 minutes before I was able to dial out again.  Thank God I did not have an emergency call to make.

At least 'The Other Political' party's ID shows up on caller ID - at least one of them anyway. I stopped answering 'Private' calls when I discovered that a political party hijacked private numbers in order to try and get you to answer. And that is why I don't answer any numbers I don't know. Thanks for the alert for the long winded message that I just eliminated. This was a targeted call - meaning it was taken off of a 'religious list'. And I don't appreciate that at all. I am so hoping these robo political calls end after the election. My vote mine and it is private.

This election once again boils down to the lesser of two 'evils' so-to-speak, the one you know or the one you don't. Be informed the best way you can and remember to vote.
