i got a call i picked up since it was 617 which is my area code, no body was answering i hung up immediately

I got a call today (Jan. 15, 2015)
The caller ID read "CUSTOMER DEPT"

Just got this too, they didn't leave a message. tried calling back and got a busy signal

Answered call - recorded message - "You may qualify to reduce your utility cost.." hung up and added to call blocker...

Caller ID said customer dept. no message left. How ANNOYING!!

Found this # on my caller ID; I don't have long distance so I couldn't call back. Without leaving a message, this must be the usual scam.

A recording said your entitled to a lower rate for electricity   Press 0 to speak to a rep I did and said take me off your list and don't ever call me again a voice said stop being a [***].    I said shut up and GTH.  Go to hell

My Call Block List program on my phone was full with the maximum 250 numbers.  I deleted all and am now starting over with the next set of 250 numbers.  Got a call today from 617 412 3804, Customer Dept.  No message left so onto the block list you go.

Got this call too, except my caller ID said: International. If this has to do  "lower rate for electricity" then caller ID "International" has nothing to do with this. What a scam

Got a call....... Didn't answer...... No msg.

Called today, I am on the do not call list, claimed to lower my electric rate.  Said Company name was Power choice.  Told them to take me off call list.  

Received call  @ 1:24 PM 1/16/15. ID was "Customer Dept"   No message left

If you have National Grid, they are now deregulated. This means they can now charge what ever they want. The people calling are other electric suppliers trying to get your business. I spoke to National Grid and was told that these companies often lock you into a 2 year contract and if you try to leave you are charged a termination fee. If you go to the National Grid website, there is a link to a list of these electric suppliers. I called a couple and the termination fees range from $150-$200 depending on when you terminate. I also researched them and found that the majority have very poor customer service.  You would still get a bill from National Grid, but they would not be the ones supplying your electricity(on the National Grid bill would be the name of the new company). National Grid now offers a budget plan. I decided to do that rather than go with another electric supplier. It's better to deal with someone you know rather than someone you don't.

This call came in on my cell phone-blocked the call.

Just got a call from this number. As we are heading into a blizzard I answered the local 617 area code. Bad connection could not understand a word. Hung up and called it back but only got a busy signal.
