Just called me tonight as well.
Something to do with trying to sell me energy assistance from the government.
Since I don't need it, just hung up on them.

No one responded when I asked who it was. I've since blocked the number from my phone.

Called the number. The only message when answered was enter 1 if you wish to be placed on the do not call list. Did that and will wait and see if it works.

CallerID said "Assistant Apprv".  Just for kicks I waited until a live voice came on the line.  She told me that she was calling from "The Gas and Electric Assistance Program" and asked for my electric utility account number.

Caller refused to give me a return phone number.

Caller refused to give a physical address of the business.

Just goes to show what scammers they are!  Any real legitimate business would gladly give out that information.
I am so sick of these scammers calling!!!!!!!! Bout ready to buy one of those phone number blocking machines from the UK. I have seen one sold that's suppose to work with the UK and the USA systems,and allows you to block numbers as they call you and by area code. I can block numbers on my phone, but the dang storage on it is only 30 numbers. I want to have 1000's of number blocking ability, and with todays technology and small microchips ...WHY is it so hard to get something like this done!  I want the ability to block calls on my phone as they call me, it does it now...come on phone manufacturers...don't you see this site as potential customers for new phones with microchips that allow us to block thousands of numbers? I would gladly pay a few hundred dollars for such a phone!! just for the peace.

I received a call from this number today at 12:47 p.m.  Since I have caller ID and I didn't recognize the number, I did not answer.  They left no voice mail.

I received an unwanted solicitation call today from (617) 412-4893. It is a violantion of privacy and respect for other's time. When I picked up the phone to answer the call, there is nobody on the other end. It is a recording service most likely, wanting to leave a solicitation - only if nobody picks up. This number should be blocked from making outgoing calls, and the company should be reported to the Better Business Bureau to protect the general public. Thank you.

Called twice in a row within a minute, no message left, annoying.

They called at 6:18pm, no one there, must be fishing!

if you block it these thieves will just use a different FAKE NUMBER  a few days later.
don't waste your time asking them to remove your number or threaten to report them for violations of DNC
this is a boiler room scam operating both within and outside of this country.
When they ask for your "electric bill" information it is an inroad to them to obtain your social security number
(did you forget thet your utility provider has your ss# ?).
Additionally if you pay your bills online...... they've just stolen your bank account number too !!!!
