Prankster tried to tell me my brother was in a bad car accident.  Called 3 times in a row until I answered.  I don't have a brother so luckily I knew it was a fake immediately.  

Feel bad for the prankster, he has a lot of negative karma coming to him!

Same guy is doing this from a 508 number. Same story. He used both numbers on my daughter. She almost sent the money.

Same guy called my dad today from # 617 459 3412 claiming I hit this guy's sibling's car/demanding cash as his sibling is an illegal immigrant so can't take the proper actions to receive compensation or something equally flaky. got some texts from my dad, where you in an accident today???
thankfully i wasn't in an accident, but this schmuck is clearly making the rounds looking to fleece some innocent sheep.

Got a call today around 10:30am and the guy says my brother's been in an accident and asks my brothers name.  Now, my brother lives out of state and this is a local number.  When I refuse to give the name he hangs up on me.  I call back and ask what his name is....he says "Tony".  I ask again where the accident is and he won't tell me...phone goes dead.  He even texted me saying this:  "You answer my question with a question,ms. I can't help you that way".

I too received a call but was able to confirm my brother was OK while the jerk was on the line.  He kept texting me (3 times).  He threatened to come kill me.  I called the police and they filed a report.  Can't they trace this jerk from his cell phone calls?  Probably a stolen phone....

Same thing occurred with me.  Guy called saying my brother was in a car accident and he was being held at gun point and if i did give him $1,000, he would kill him.  Quite frightening.  However,  he didn't know my brother's name and would not give me where he was located.  

Yep, about 11:00 AM this morning, Tony called me and said my brother was in a bad car accident, etc. I also had a pretty good idea on his race... I told him to put my brother on the phone and he refused. Said he is in a lot trouble etc. and that I needed to come down to the accident. Yea right, so I started messing with him. Asked what my brother's name was, etc. I knew it was a scam. I did call my brother, he is fine. He heard about the scam on the news. This number kept trying to call me back so I had it blocked and called my brother in law at the BPD.

We were hit with the same guy and the same story we were able to record his voice. Any guys have more information contact me at 6176513161 i want to stop this guy.

Got the same message today New Year's Day!told him the banks were closed and he told me to go to stop n shop and send a money transfer. He never hung up the phone. But he wasn't too smart as I told him I was at home, in the car and Stop n Shop all within 10 mins and never lowering the tv volume. When I told him I didn't want to give my personal info we got into a screaming match and he hung up. Such a [***]!!! I had already confirmed with my brothers and cousins their safety. But what a waste of my morning!

Got a call today from this guy.  He said my brother was in an accident.  I asked him my brother's name, and he said I needed to tell him the name so he could make sure I was the right guy.  I told him I didn't trust him, and he told me to go F my mother.

This same guy called me and said that my sister hit his cousins BMW causing $6,000 in damage and that if I didn't wire him $1,000 they would shoot her as they supposedly had her at gunpoint. Thankfully I confirmed my sister was ok and never crashed. The guy sounded foreign, maybe hispanic, he had a really thick accent and I could barely understand him. The number is out of Boston, MA.

Keep getting calls from this # - no messages just keeps calling

I was called at 252pm by Tony with the heavy accent telling me my father was in a car accident with Tony's cousin. He was screaming at me and telling me that his cousin was crazy and a fugitive and had gotten into it with my father beacuse my father was calling the police about the accident. Tony stated that his cousin pulled out a gun at my father and took his phone and demanded $6000 from my father for the cost of the damage my father did to Tony's cousin's BMW. Yes I stayed on the phone to listen to the entire story and he was scaring me because he would not stop screaming at me. I was at work so I picked up another phone and called my father who was fine. THIS IS A SCAM! 90% of me knew it was incredulous but 10% of me was scared DO NOT BE FOOLED by this jerk! These are professionals who prey on people daily.

I got a call from this "Tony" this morning claiming my brother was in an accident. He said he needed me to tell him his name so  he could verify who I was. I asked him to tell me what my brother's name is and tried to get him to tell me where he was. He kept trying to get me to tell him my brother's name, and when I asked what kind of accident, he said he was in a car accident. My brother does not drive, so I knew then it was certainly a scam. He finally told me if I didn't give him my brother's name he was going to have to find someone else to help him. Confirmed my brother was fine and will be filing a police report.

I just have the same caller name and number just few minutes ago, Fortunately I do not have brothers but i heard about this scam before so I was playing with the guy trying to get further information about "My brother". I have called the police and I will be reporting this number as well.

I got this too. I do have a brother and it was a bit unnerving. He said he had my brother's cell phone and, a nice touch, that they would shoot him if I didn't wire the money. Calling this a prank is understating the situation. I hope this is a felony and I think they should go to jail.
