- CrystalRaven| 1 replyCalled at 7:50 this morning---as expected left no message... Cowardly Sumbags!!!!!
- Caller: Unknown Name
- Sassy| 1 replyThis number left a recorded message on my answering machine at 8:15am in the morning! Seriously? What completely terrified me is that the message that was left, gave my name and said I owe an outstanding medical bill debt. I don't understand because I have insurance and have never received any type of bill that wasn't paid! Since receiving this call, I've taken notice that I now have several other 'no name' numbers that call my phone and never leave messages... frustrating!

- JanyceGot a call from this # yesterday at 9:47a.m. (Sunday). No msg left.
- Cindy SIt is a debt collection agency. I owe a small amt for a medical bill from year ago. They don't leave a message.
FYI -as far as I know collection agencies can call on Sunday. It isn't illegal. They can call any day after 8AM and/or before 9PM.- Call type: Debt collector
- Robert grant| 2 repliesThis debt collector is calling on sun.
I thought this was illegal - not Michael replies to Robert grantWhy would calling on Sunday be illegal? For many people its not the sabbath. And for those who do celebrate on Sunday its a good day to catch them at home.

- Susan replies to SassyThis happened to me years ago. The Dr.'s office made a mistake years before I got the call. The 2nd time the credit agency called me and I tried to explain what had happened and that the Dr's office knew of the mistake and was correcting the problem. The caller started screaming at me..literally screaming at me. I called the Dr's ofc and let the insurance lady I had been dealing with have an earful. On top of that, it was so old that the insurance lady at the Dr;s asked if I could find out more from the insurance company. Then I drew a line (no longer had the company) and said that she had created the problem from years ago and she would have to deal with it herself.
- Lisa| 1 replyThey called my house at 8am this morning. When i answered it was some sort of recorded bs about hitting 1 for this, 2 for something else etc , etc. IF it is a collection agency you do NOT have to deal with them, they are NOT the original debt holder and you can tell them to kiss off. IF you are on the DO NOT CALL LIST. they are not supposed to be able to call you either. Getting ready to call them back, Tired of getting calls early in the morning and they cant seem to leave a message. This is insane

- TeriI just got a call from these people, before 8:00am! The caller ID said "Not Available", but they left their name on the pre-recorded voicemail.

- rooks replies to BluedI get calls on sunday also told the man that called its illegal to harrass people on sundays I have no debt told him do not call back or I would report him
- tired of unwanted callsThis number keeps calling and not leaving a message. The caller id claims it is a "private number." I am sick of this stuff. I just received a collection notice from a lab, whose bill was paid in full over a year ago. People apparently aren't doing their job or someone is pocketing the money!

- Resident47 replies to Robert grantWhat you think is illegal and what the law says can be vastly different. Cindy right behind you was correct, if we are speaking only of federal law, the FDCPA. I believe a couple of states apply a "Blue Law" to debt collectors. Don't assume ... find the statutes which apply to you.
- Resident47 replies to Lisa} they are NOT the original debt holder and you can tell them to kiss off
But the creditor or debt buyer can still decide to sue you, which is why the "block-ignore" response can be dangerous.
The federal Do-Not-Call registry exists to help enforce the Telemarketing Sales Rule. Please note the operative term ''marketing''. A debt collector is not a sales person and is therefore not covered. The few remaining state lists share this limitation. Here are the DNCR service terms you were supposed to review at registration time:
National Do Not Call Registry Q&A
http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0108-national-do-not-call-registry - Resident47Whether you are called a debtor or some collector thinks you can flush one out, you have rights and options. Many are simple to exercise if you only learn how. You are entitled to proof of claim and fair treatment. If one or the other is not provided, the collection agency should *not* win your assets. You are granted control of how you are contacted, the right to dispute debt claims, and the means to sue violators at low cost. The FTC and the CFPB can start you on your homework. See also if your state laws grant additional or stronger rights.
