Political call from Bernie Sanders

repeated calls, no-one there. Sick of calls from area code 617. I have to pay for these calls. What happened to the 'do not cal'l list?

6:40 pm on Monday. Hung up when I answered.

The do not call list apparently does not exist.  I get way too many unwanted calls.

Received a call from this number , no one there!

Most of these calls are from "spoof" numbers.  They aren't legit phone numbers (and can't be held accountable by the folks with the do not call list), and they are manned by scammers/phishers out to get your information/money, and at the least, when you answer, it registers as a valid working number  and they can sell your number to others like themselves.  A)  If you don't recognize a number - especially a number you have to pay for - don't answer the phone.  B) Buy a number blocker, I understand they're not that expensive, that you can use to block any further calls from any numbers you don't recognize or that you know are scammers/fishers.

Caller ID read 617-863-0160, Boston. Did not pick up. No message left

Number came up as just "Boston" and an older? Male voice left a brief voicemail in which he said my name twice (mispronounced) and also hello a couple times like do u not know what a voicemail is?

The Do Not Call list does not apply to political campaigns and nonprofits which it seems this is.  Each campaign and nonprofit has their own Do Not Call list that you have to explicitly ask to be on, which sometimes requires verification process.  So picking up and yelling "Stop Calling" rarely works.

Calls and hangs up when answering machine picks up. Thank you for the advice from the Pat for the information about the number blockers. I didn't realize they'd work with these types of calls. Very grateful to all posters who provide info.

8:26PM Call   I answered and Noone on other line. These type of calls anger me so much. Especially when my Child and wife are in bed for the night.... Grrrrr

Called last night at 6:45PM.  We let it go to ans. machine.  At the very least they could leave a msg saying WHO they are or WHAT they want - or better yet put their NAME on Caller ID.  No msg/no info.  We have to go to sites like this to see what is going on.  We get calls from docs/hospitals as well as others in Boston, so cannot block the 617 area code.  Spouse is registered as an Independent, so we get ALL the political calls from BOTH sides.  So frustrating to play 'chicken' with unknown phone calls day after day.  Now that I know this one is political, its BLOCKED.

Answered.  Nobody there.

This number called my landline today at 1650 hours.  I wasn't home at the time and wouldn't have answered it anyway because nearly every call I get on my landline is a scam artist.  For the heck of it, I blocked my caller information and called the number back.  Yup.  It's the Bernie Sanders political machine.  I have to wonder if political stumping phone calls work at all.  I can't imagine my mind being swayed by some cold-calling phone caller and I kind of feel insulted that someone thinks that I am that weak of will.  But that's probably just my contrary nature.

You are both wrong.  Political calls are exempt from the DNC list.   Surprise!  Wonder how that happened???
