Caller ID says Cambridge MA but this is probably a spoofed number.

I am quite certain these guys are scammers.

The Do Not Call list is a big joke, isn't it?

Like any law, it needs to be enforced, but it's a little difficult to enforce a law against someone who is not even in your country (as a lot of these scammers are), or against someone who's operating out of a sweatshop. We have speeding laws but everyone breaks those every day.

Andrew, I know you are right but it is terribly frustrating to hear from these scammers daily.  I just got another call from the same folks.

The Do Not Call fines are not very big - I read recently that a California telemarketer who made billions of calls was fined $75,000.  Big deal.

They have called four times this morning, and it's only 1:00!

Graven Austin & Drake, research firm. This is a new number they are calling me on, called back and asked to be on the DNC list again.  We'll see, otherwise it's time to report them!

I just got a call from this number and it read Cook's Illus.  Well, that magazine? subscription does exist per the Internet but this number is not related to it AND I have never subscribed to it.

Graven Austin is always calling here.  They finally got the idea of using a name where a few years ago it came as Unavailable.  Well I never answer Unavailable or anyplace (one) else I have never heard of.

Called claiming to be from Cook's Illustrated Magazine but hung up when I started to speak. Cook's Illustrated is very, very, aggressive with sales but this may be a scammer, and not them.

I got a call from the same number. I do not answer numbers I do not know.  However, I do subscribe to Cook's Illustrated, but cannot remember them calling me for anything.  I just get emails or items in the mail.

Agree with all comments. They (cooks) call 4x a day-- tho I have never picked up- nor will I.

I recently subscribed to CI.  Yesterday they started calling me.  I haven't answered.  Now I regret having mailed them a check.  I certainly won't renew when the time comes.

this number said Cooks Illustrated, but I don't believe it! No messages left.

Just got off the phone with Cooks illustrated, called the 800 number listed above. [800-526-8442] Erin at this number told me that they have telemarketers that work for them and this is one of their numbers [617-892-4521]. I asked that my number be taken off of ALL telemarketing calls from C.I and it was done.

Evidently, this number (although they did not leave a message) belongs to COOKS ILLUSTRATED magazine. I used to have a subscription to this magazine but got tired of all the black and white pictures of food! I mean, what lame brain thought putting B&W photos and illustrations in a cookbook was appealing??! It is not! Cookbooks should be ALL COLOR PHOTOS PEOPLE! Anyway, I have never been contacted by them by phone; always by email or regular email. Since I stopped subscribing to them (had to research this first) this number 617-892-4521 is one of their telemarketing phone numbers! I did not authorize for them to call me about anything. What has to be done is to call their MAIN Custormer Service Number 1-800-526-8442 (not the number on your phone!!) and have them REMOVE me (my number) from their list. According to others, this is what needs to be done in order to stop the annoying calls that come in and no message is left. It's pretty sneaky of them to call and not leave a message until you actually answer the call. I am definitely going to call them to remove my number and to complain. This is what I would suggest for all of you getting calls from this number.

It is Cooks Illustrated magazine hounding you if you stopped getting their subscriptions. I called the main customer service number (1-800-526-8442) to complain and be taken OFF this call list already on 3/16/16!! I do not want to be bothered nor am I wanting their subscriptions...not to mention I am on the Do Not Call List and did not ask to be solicited. Evidently, it didn't work, so just called again 3/28/16. Her name was Jordan (I believe it was the same person as before) and she was very nice, but said she did not understand why they did not stop calling and took my phone number off as well. She also noticed I did call before to have my numbered removed off their list. I also did inform her that this is illegal now and if they call again, I will contact the FCC. She said should understood.
But, it also appears some of you out there are getting these calls randomly without being a former customer. If that is the case please REPORT that number to the FCC. They will be fined!!! 617-892-4521 If you do not report and complain about these numbers, they will continue to harrass others and you and never stop! Please do not ignore this number and caller's like these. Do something about it! We must end unwanted callers/calls permanently!! If we do nothing, they will continue to harass us.

I did more calls being on the no call list than before I was on it.  You're right, it's a joke.

Male called me at 8:45pm from this number and stated that he was with the American Quarter Horse Association for membership renewal.  He is NOT a representative for this association.  Please don't give your personal information to this person. IT IS FRAUD! He is fishing for your banking information. He knew my name and that I owned quarter horses.  When I questioned him, he hung up.
