Just received a call from this number. The caller is selling extended warranty's for cars and trucks.  You may purchase this coverage during the phone call by using your credit card. No business name was provided to caller id. Seems really suspicious.
I am on the Do Not Call List. This call was unsolicited by me. I have blocked the number.

Yes it's most likely a scam. You give them your credit card info and say goodbye to your credit balance. Never give information to anyone who calls you, especially from a company you don't know. Good that you blocked the number.

They hung up.  I called back.  They were asking for donations for veterans. I asked to have my number removed from their  list. Probably won't work.  Call originated from New Athens, IL.

Just got a call from this number, showing New Athens, IL.  No message left.  Blocked.

no info but daytime call jan 16. around time got other repeat scam calls

I answered phone by mistake. Gentleman told me he was recording my call and it was for a donation to veterans. He would send information in mail only if I promised to donate at least $15. While I believe we should donate to a worthy veteran cause, you can not tell people how much to donate. When I said I would look over info but would not promise to donate $15, he hung up...which only means SCAM.

Asking for donations for a veterens group. I told him no thank you and I hung up.

Received call from this number today (1/17/15), appearing as "New Athens, IL" on Caller ID  (never heard of it; don't even know where that is in IL?!).  We NEVER answer calls from people/businesses/numbers that we don't recognize, and no message was left on answering machine, so it's probably a sales call and/or a scam.  Therefore, they can call in perpetuity, and we will NEVER answer!        

Received a call from this number about 5:00 Jan. 17,2015.  No message was left.

Just got a call myself.  Did not answer and no message left.

From "New Athens, IL".  Almost answered it because I'm Greek, lol.

I never answer calls from numbers I don't recognize. If it's important, they can leave a message and if I know them, I'll call them back.

Felt in the mood to screw people tonight even though they called during dinner time.  Picked up the phone and waited for a few seconds to someone to pick up on the other end.  Said they were collecting for some veterns group.  Told them pound sand and hung up.

Just got a call on my land line from  "New Athens, IL"  I didn't answer it and they didn't leave a message.  I have never heard of New Athens, IL  before.

I just received a call from Athens IL and this number.  I actually was able to enter the number and check it on 800 notes as it rang before going to voice mail.  I saw the entry from Grayson on 1/16 about the caller selling extended car warranties.  So, I took the call and when the person began to talk about donating to a veteran group I interrupted him and asked if he also sells extended car warranties from this phone number.  He said NO!  So I asked him if he would be interested in buying one from ME!  Just give me your credit card number and I'll insure your car for a lifetime!  His response was a loud hang up!!

l too got the same call from new Athens IL. I'm loving all your input re: this#. I'm at least getting some COMIC relief out of these annoying strange numbers. a feel like I'm in a 800# support group. Thx everyone! Feels strangely good to  be a part of the gang :)

Received a call from a man at this number. He was asking for donations to a veterans group.
He explained that the group was making and distributing gift packs for vets in hospitals and homeless vets.
He wanted me to commit to a donation of $25 or $35. Said they would send me a pledge slip in the mail.
I said it was OK if he mailed me the pledge slip then I would research the charity and decide whether I would contribute.
He wanted to know if I could commit right now or else he wouldn't send the pledge form.
I said I would make a $25 donation so he handed me off to his "pledge information center."
A woman came on the line and asked for my credit card number. I said I was expecting a form in the mail.
She asked whom to send it to and I gave her an initial and last name. She asked to me to verify my address
but after she read me the house number the line was disconnected. I figured it was a scam.

Man's voice saying "hello" 3 times.  I erased call.
