Caller ID said "Illinois Police". Since my kid is a cop in Illinois I answered. There was silence from the other end. Probably a phone scam to donate money

My answering machine picked up and the caller said his name was Keith Daugherty.   The Caller I D said Illinois Police. I think the same scam as a few months ago, but with different number.

no message, blocking the call probably a scam.

Did not leave a message.

If you answer they know it is a live number and they will sell your number.

Caller I.D. said "Illinois Police". Said his name was Keith Daugherty & asked how I was doing.  I told him to put my phone number on his do not call list and while he was apologizing profusely I hung up.  We have seen a surge in police donation scams in this area over the last several years...but this one came all the way from Area Code 618.

My caller ID said "B2B Support".  I didn't answer and they left no message.

Another bs scam

Called my landline while I was at work. Since almost all calls to my landline are spam I don't even have voice mail set up anymore.

Received call and mistakenly answered.  Silence for a few seconds and then an [***] goes into his pitch about Illinois Police Association.  Do not call list apparently doesn't stop these butt nuggets.

illinois police call scam! must have been a recorded voice although it sounded like a real person. i said i do not donate to police departments over the phone and the voice just kept talking. let me make this clear! i know for a FACT! police departments are not allowed to and will never solicit donations over the phone! IT IS AGAINST THE LAW!!!!!

The DNCR cannot "stop" anything. Honest telemarketers reference it to remain compliant with the Telemarketing Sales Rule. Commercial fundraisers need not do the same.

Please cite the law as I turn you over to some FTC reading ....

I received this call a few moments ago and I spoke to a live person who said I could donate money with my credit card for charity.  When I asked questions he became very angry and began using profanity at me.  He told me he would show me how to respect him. I'm so afraid I'm contacting local authorities. Something has to be done to these people.

Just received a call from this number.  Caller ID said Illinois Police.  They asked for money and when I said I was out of work they quickly hung up on me. No good-bye just hung-up.

Request for donation and asked if I was "completely comfortable with a donation of $15" then hung up.

Just recv'd a call.  I.D. said Illinois State Police.  Figured it was a scam as the police or fire do not solicit over the phone so I just let it ring; they hung up on the 4th ring.

This number 618-855-0185  didn't leave a message and ID box said Collinsville, IL.
