Received call from 619-456-8566, shows a name of Jonathan Andrew...person did not leave msg

Received call from 619-456-8566 - person said he was Jonathan Andrew from Denver, Colorado, also said he was from Microsoft - that our computer had been hacked & we needed to listen to him, of course, we hung up.

I got a call from 619-456-8566 on 25 Aug 14, and yep, the person said his name was Jonathan Andrew (matched on the caller ID).  Said that he was calling because my computer had a very serious problem.

Got a call from this number, "Jonathan Andrew" just now.  My computer has a "security problem."  I told him to buzz off and hung up.  Read about this scam in the SF Chronicle a couple of days ago.  The next step, apparently, is that they ask to take control of your computer to "eliminate the virus that's causing the problem."  Yea, right.  I'm sure gonna do that!

Hi there, that is a scam so they can get in to your computer, they say they are from Microsoft
but are stupid people that try and hack in to your information.

Got a call from (619)456-8566 a cell phone from CA. Guy with heavy accent said "hello" like three times. Said his name is Michael Johnson and that I have a problem with my Mac. I don't even own a Mac. I laughed at him and said, so your Michael Johnson with a accent, ya right! Hung up. smh

Got a call from a guy tonight, missed his name but said he was with Microsoft. When I told him I didn't have a computer and asked if he was a scammer trying to steal my info, called me a f@#king idoit and I hung up. He them called back 4 more times and was then called every bang on the curse word dictionary when asked to speak with a supervisor from the US. Scary!

Just got a call 2 minutes ago from this number, said is from the "it department of windows".  I hang up.

Received a call from this number about 6:25 pm on Aug. 29, 2014. I did not answer because I did not recognize the number. Caller ID said the number was from San Diego area I don't know anybody in San Diego so I didn't answer.

Received  a call today  08-30-14,  Jonathan Anderson.  He  said I had a virus. told him not to call back, this was a scam.  He informed me he was going to call back  and he did,  I told  him I am filing a police report and  going to hire a lawyer to go after people like you.   Never did call back.      I got calls from different numbers  each week.   I hope  the government shuts them down.

Those calls are apparently coming from Pakistan or India.
It will be difficult for OUR government to do much about it.

Probably time to buy a call blocker device, app, or phone.
Google "call blocker" to see the various types, and find one that best meets your needs.
