Thank you!  He actually emailed me from my Craigs List posting.  I thought something was wrong with his email and flagged him for CL.  Then I just found this site and your comments.  So grateful for the information sharing like this on the internet!  I hope no one falls prey to this kind of crap.  He said he now has some kind of creative design company.  I also reported him to Hotmail as a scammer (not that they'll do anything).  thanks!

I got a text message saying "she" (Mary Walker found me on care.com and was moving to my area and wanted me to pet sit. The kept asking what city I lived in so she could find a place close to me. Anyways I didn't tell her and I called her and it was a guy saying he was her agent and they are moving from New Zealand. Total scam.

I got a similar message but it was a text...& it just happened.  "Amber" said in the text she has a friend in need of a sitter for her dog as she is relocating soon. They left an email address: bdoug4823@live.com.  What a bunch of *baloney* (I censored myself).  This is the umpteenth scam text I have received from spammers claiming they saw my profile on care.com.  Of course I didn't fall for it.

I wish I hadn't!  I am so upset with myself!  Just like a kid following a stranger with a puppy, I fell for the "I want a good person to take care of my dog".  The frustrating thing is as soon as I hit send on the email...I thought, 'wait, something isn't right about this" and then checked out the email address and phone number.  Needless to say, I immediately signed up for LifeLock!  LOL

Received original text from 201.987.5110 and said she was helping a friend who was relocating find a pet sitter.  She gave me the phone # 619.632.5446 to text and the email address stacey_hartfield@hotmail.com to send my information.  After we had corresponded via email, I decided to look her up and discovered that the stacey_hartfield@hotmail.com lives in Las Vegas, NV which is no where near where she said she is living.  I cannot believe I fell for this scam and am really beating myself up over it.

I responded to a job posting on one of the major job sites for an assistant. Paid $600 weekly to take care of things while he was away, name of Paul R Walker, number is legit, T-Mobile based, San Diego area. Told me he was currently in Paris on business and needed somebody here to act on his behalf. Being a hiring manager myself now for some time I asked some very specific questions that he would not answer. Be forewarned, this is a scam.

They are still pulling this scam using this number.  I was hired as a personnel assistant by a guy named Frank Scott.  The check was send through Fedex, when I went to pick it up, FedEx held the check because of fraud.  This was yesterday, June 3,2016.  No damage done to me, but this is getting old.
