received message to call 1-800-215-1862, which was identified as Discover.  Called the number and got what sounded like a fax tone.

Yes, 623-643-2790, 614-283-1953, 623-643-2575, These numbers are from DISCOVER CARD....these aren't the only numbers though.They will call every 20 minutes!! Extremely annoying!! They want their $$$!!

After having them call me 4 times one morning (I let voice mail pick up), I contacted Discover directly. I was informed that there is absolutely no reason they would be calling me -- A) I'm not the primary on the card, B) there is no delinquency on the account, and C) there is no suspicious activity flagged under my name.

When I did return the call to 623-643-2790, the man asked for my FULL 16 digit account number.   This is NOT a legitimate credit card company practice. They should only ask be asking for the last 4 digits of your account #, and then verify your identity from there.

When I refused to give that info and told him to look me up by my phone number, he hemmed and hawwed, then finally asked me if I was "Susan Peterson".   I said no, and he said that he was sorry for the mix-up and they wouldn't be contacting me again.   I'll bet.

If anyone calls you for something like this - THEY should have your information already.   DO NOT give personal or financial info like this out!

When they call say that persons # has been changed give them this # 1-888-870-7770 this is the Governors office in Mass.  We need law changes let the governors office get a taste of what it is like to be harassed.  Give this number to all creditors !!!!!

Recieved a call yesterday from "Chris" asking for "Louise." (I'm divorced, live alone. My phone number is unlisted.) I told him he had the wrong number and asked that he not call again as I work nights. (This was an 8am call.) He called 5 more times yesterday and then called again this morning, 10am, and woke me up again. Now I'm spending the day calling all over Discover Financial. I'll post whatever info I glean.

They call a couple of times a day...never leaving a message. A total pain in the a** these people are.  :-(

My cell phone has received 2-5 calls every day for weeks from this number or from the alternate they use (623-643-2795) I believe. I don't answer.

Got phone call.  Left message about saving money on taxes.  Then looked number up here.  I do owe Discover Card.  I have been getting calls from them.  This may be a way of them getting me to contact them.

Don't know who these people are...have been calling me four times a day.  And I don't have anything to do with discover card and they don't leave a message.


When I return the call it says "thankyou for using discover card."  Its a selling scam/

I have a private line.

They call at least 3 to 4 times daily and I do not now nor have I ever had a Discover card.
I think I'll parental control this phone number to stop the harassing calls.

I had numerous calls from this number over 3 days (never leaving a message) and finally called it back. They did in fact say they were Discover however, they said they couldn't tell me why I called unless I gave them my social security number, birthdate and credit card number.  I said just pull up my account through my phone number like you've done before.  They said they couldn't do that.   This was after I had called Discover and found out that they have never called me and did not have any record of the past 5 calls from this number calling me.  Discover also stated that they leave a message if/when they need to reach you; they never just hang up.   DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION.    Tell them you called Discover and that "the real" Discover folks have not contacted you.  

It answers as Discover card.  It rings directly to a recording. It's the same voice as the 800# on the back of an actual Discover credit card.  Without touching anything "your call may be recorded for quality purposes" and it then rings to a desk.  "Thank you for calling Discover card, this is Terry in Arizona.  Your call is being recorded for quality purposes.  May I start by getting your 16 digit account # please"

Frankly it could be legitimate but typically with any # you call into discover, even though it's a direct dial instead of an 800#, you get either a menu prompt or if it DOES for some reason ring directly to a person, they ask what the reason for calling is first so they can route the call.  

For the sake of this [***], I stated "I do not have a 16 digit account #, I am applying for a new card."  He then said, "Let me transfer you to new accounts" and the call dropped.

If it is discover they need to take this # down.  Clearly that office is in need of training.  If it is NOT discover, this # needs to be brought to their attention so they can pursue the fraudulent organization criminally and legally.
