This is one of the most annoying charities in USA. Upward Foundation. They will call 200 times a year. Computer-dialed so you have to say Hello 3 times before a human comes online. They will not remove my name from their list. They say that it is not possible. Then they call back in 1 hour. I bought Call Rejection from my phone company but Upward has a bank of phone lines and can call you from 20 different numbers. The Call Rejection only lets me block 29 numbers.

I always tell this company to stop calling.  They say they cannot remove name/number from their list, that you have to call another number and "request".  I even did this.  They do not stop.  They called from several numbers.  No, you cannot use call reject.

They keep calling and will NOT remove my number. They said I have to call another number which I refuse to do.  I have call rejected their number many times and they still keep calling.  They call at least everyday once.

This company calls from many different numbers and will not take you off their list.  There must be some way to stop this.  I'm writing my congressman.

I also got a call. I say we talk to them and keep them on the line for as long as possible. Ask them to tell you about the history of their company. Chances are that you will stump the sales rep. who has a script and knows nothing about their company history. Proceed to scold them for their lack of knowledge. Just keep talking to them and annoy them back. It will at least drop their call volume down, and less people will be contacted for that day. I try to sell them my services when they call me.

They call and hang up - so annoying! I have no idea who they are -  I'm on the do not call list!  UUGH!

You can request not calls 100 times, get just excuses.  Uncooperative, annoying, downright crappy.

They are very nice people they called and I asked to be removed and the young man said they were unable to and I had to call their office I said no so he asked if I wanted to speak to a manager they came on were prompt and curteous and I have not gotten a call since then

44-6555. Solicitation disclosure requirements; written confirmation

D. During the solicitation, whether by telephone or otherwise, independent solicitors shall:

1. Identify themselves as for profit solicitors who are soliciting on behalf of a charitable organization or a contracted fund raiser.

2. Disclose the legal name of the charitable organization or contracted fund raiser on whose behalf the independent solicitor is making the solicitation.

3. Disclose the independent solicitor's true legal name.

4. State that the purpose of the solicitation is to raise charitable funds.

If they do not disclose their true legal name their organization gets shut down!  If they do disclose their true legal name and are that annoying...

Upward Foundation contracts with a company called 'Value Village' to make telephone solicitations on their behalf. Value Village can be reached at 623-848-9772. The manager, Eric, promises to remove the number from their database.

Upward Foundation. Call 602-279-5801 and ask for Doug Carter. Doug is the CEO and will remove you from the calling list.

They are now calling under the name Value Village!

I donate to them quite often, been doing so for about 3 years now.  At first I thought they were a scam, but they seem pretty decent.  They always give me a taxable donation slip and take away the donations promptly from my front door.  If anything, it's an easy way to remove excess from your home, no matter where it turns up... it's worth the convenience.

They called last night when I left my home and then again when I came home.  When I called back and said "I missed a call from this number" there was silence.  I use to give to this charity all the time but not with what they are doing now.  I feel that is very unprofessional and sad.  All they would have to do is announce themselves and make the homeowner feel welcomed.  I give to a lot of charities any way I can

Upward Foundation will not stop calling and from different call center lines.

No ID, unknown number, so I did not answer.  No message.  I never answer unless I know who's calling, so they're the ones wasting time, not me.

There is a long article about a law suit with the Atty General.  Don't be so sure that they are actually making valuable donations.
