Answering machine picked up.  Msg was my name kind of garbled with a belch and they hung up.

Had three calls to my cell phone over the course of last six hours, no message.

These clowns have been calling me all day and they never leave a message. I called the number back and the message indicates that they are a call center named the Share Group and they work for many nonprofit organizations. They have an option to have your number removed, you just press 2. I did so and the message said that it may take up to 72 hours for the request to be processed. We shall see...

This number calls our landline several times a day, every day, often twice at night, always hangs up before the call goes to the answering machine.  I verified # with *69.  We routinely screen calls, so expect we'll have to start picking up constantly to (maybe) get a human being to request opt-out.

We ARE on the Do Not Call List; I really resent that some organizations were given exemptions, and are free to disrupt our quiet time with hang-up calls.

Called twice at 2:13 and then at 4:43.  Did not answer, blocked call.  I already had them blocked with another number.  I wish they will stop changing their phone number.

I just received a call from them asking me to donate to the humane society, 10 dollars a month! I'm a college student I can't afford that.  I was very reluctant to give much information and I said "if you send me something in the mail, I'll take a look at it, I don't give any other info out over the phone."

Nice lady, but I'm always so wary of these calls.  I need to get caller id.

I received many calls from this number and finally called it back after they never left a message. It's a call group that works for "many non-profits." Call them back and chose option 2 to be removed from their call list. I assume that this is the result of making a donation to PBS last year. Annoying.

Pulled up the website that ajwatt had given above, clicked on the "careers" tab, and called the number for their HR Dept: Phone: 617-629-4500. Actually got a live person and requested my number taken off of their calling list. The woman asked for my number, punched it in their system, and verified my name (?!?!?!). She was really nice and said that she would take it off any future callings. I guess we'll see...

6 min agoHi everyone.  Since 1998, I have worked as a fundraiser for the Share Group (Massachusetts).  Prior to that I have worked for several other fundraising companies since 1993 - almost 20 years in total.

The bottom line:  when it comes to telefundraising, the vendor (the company making the phone calls on "behalf" of the charity) gets MOST (sometimes ALL) of the money raised via these calls.
