- Mary's friend| 3 repliesCall from this number Nov 12 at 2:17 pm. Caller ID said AGENT. Didn't bother picking up, never do if I don't recognize the name or number. If a pest calls back more than twice, they go on my Blocked Call list. But here's a new wrinkle: Several calls over the past few days from "Out of Area" or "Private Caller". There is NO number given at all so I can't block them. Blah.

- Caller: AARP
- Call type: Telemarketer
- AnnonThis number called many times, until it left an automated message stating that it was AARP, offering a free medical alert system and a $3000 gift certificate for groceries. It said to press 2 to accept it and notify your doctor that it would be shipped to you free of charge.
- Caller: Agent
- JohnCalls about twice a week saying AARP will give me a free alert button. I usually hang up, but sometimes I stay on the line and push 9 to opt out. They say they will let my dr. know - they call again and again. I do not want them to call again.

- FedupAn illegal recorded sales call claiming not to be a sales call. It is NOT from AARP, though the recording makes it sound like it if you don't listen carefully. (They claim to quote AARP, but it doesn't make sense.) They are also using a spoofed number.
(A different number shows up on your caller ID.) This is a SCAM. I did not answer so the following is verbatim from voicemail: "Senior Alert Systems is sending out free, life saving medical alert pendants to all eligible senior citizens. ...already paid for. In addition to your medical alert system, you will also be receiving $3000 in grocery store certificates to help you save money every month. ...press 1 now (to receive shipment)...press 5 now to notify your health care provider that you have refused this shipment." Think about that last one: somehow pressing 5 is going to get back to YOUR health care provider.
I got a call several months ago from the exact SAME fast-talking voice with a very similar outrageous SCAM. Verbatim from that voicemail (I transcribed parts of it while listening several times, posted it on this site, and saved it in a email draft): "new experimental relief compound...extremely effective...can be shipped immediately...press 1 now (to receive shipment)...press 5 now to notify your health care provider that you have refused this shipment." Notice some of the wording is exactly the same.- Caller: Scam artists claiming to be "Senior Alert Systems"
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Brandon Watson replies to GuestThis is not AARP. This is a scam. I received this call and it notified me that my healthcare provider has put my name forth as a qualifying senior to receive a free medical alert system as well as $3,000 dollars in grocery store gift certificates.
The problems with this are I am 30, definitely not a senior, and i got this call on my work phone, which my doctor doesn't have. Legitimate AARP offers do not randomly call number with an auto dialer. In addition, if this were legitimate you would be able to call them back and talk to a rep and they would leave a voice mail so that seniors who need this would actually get the message if they were home.
Please notify your loved ones not to accept this. I'm sure they will need a credit card for "shipping" and "verification" and then they will max it out. - RScam medical alert caller.

- LolaJust received a hang up call from this number at about 5:15PM today. We are on the DNC register but once again, there was no point registering our number there. It does nothing. So tired of getting these calls. Wish someone could come up with some way to make them stop.
