Scamming as an internal revenue officer.

I got a scam call, recorded message that they're from the IRS. Got the same call yesterday from 760-557-1024. I would call this harrassment!

2nd day in a row so far, blocked it in voip panel.

Just received call from this number stating that they were from the IRS,  Really!!!

Claiming that have pending taxes for past years. Threatening with law suit and arrest. Asking for money immediately.  DO NOT call them back.

You are correct. They are even resorting to swatting of victims who refuse to comply with their demands. Just hang up, block the number and report them to the appropriate agency:

There are numerous telephone and email scams in which individuals claim to be employees of the Treasury Department. These scammers often state that they are from the “Department of Legal Affairs,” offer grant money in exchange for you wiring a small payment, or threaten to arrest you within a short period of time unless payment is made. Do not provide personal information or payment to these individuals.  Their actions are crimes under Titles 18 and 31 of the United States Code, and the Treasury Office of Inspector General is working to stop them.

If they claim to be from Treasury, report  it to OIGCounsel@oig.treas.gov with a description.  If it was a phone contact, include:
the exact date and time that you received the call(s)
the phone number of the caller
the geographic location and time zone where you received the call
a description of the communication.

If they claim to be from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or it is about taxes, report it to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at:

Someone called from this number leaving a recorded message saying they were the IRS and I need to call back before they take action. I pay my taxes every year, these people are crazy! I hope these scammed get caught

Just called. Didnt answer. Been getting a lot of weird numbers lately. Finally left vm very slow robot voice very unclear say something about irs and being heather. Gave number and ext to call back but couldn't understand numbers. Obviously a scam!

Called my home phone that I NEVER use for any reason other that to fax papers. I don't include the number when giving contact info so...yeah, how and why would the IRS be calling be about a debt when I haven't been employed in over 15 years and I don't owe any taxes whatsoever. The slow speaking robot called and left the name for me to contact as Heather Gray. When I called, some STUPID guy answers no matter when and how many times you call, you get the same guy. I called from 2 different phones and the first thing he asked was what my name was vibtold him that they called me so they should be able to recognizes the number and tell me who they were trying to contact when they called and left the vm letting me know that they were from the IRS and I should call them. The kept saying YOU. That I. Itself let me know they were full of crap. I saved the vm for my future records and references.

Calling for IRS for mother who draws SSI saying she was suppose to owe taxes threatening and said someone would be here to arrest me... Lol

"IRS" Scam.  Third call in 3 days. Same message from 3 different phone numbers.

I have received several calls from this number - they leave a message that has a veiled threat about suing if I do not follow their instructions.

IRS called and reported that i need to return the call and take immediate action.  Heather was her first name on the automated call.  Another attempt at trying to get people to call the IRS and give their information.
