i called this number back after missing two calls on my cell. everyone there is indian (not native american, rather from india). they said they were calling me about a job opportunity. if you google the phone number thousands of job listings come up written in very strange sounding english. i gave the person who answered my # and told them to take me off their list. they asked for my name so the recruiter that was calling me could get in touch with me. i again asked that they take me off their list immediately. the guy said he would, but i don't believe it. i think it is a scam. here are a couple of links to job postings with the phone # from google:

Becca, and Joe..... whoever they might be, but i hope that they are calling u for a job opportunity.... and not for selling u something or any other scam as u stated. ....right... and i do hope u understand what the meaning of "OPPORTUNITY" is in ur NATIVE AMERICAN English....Now if u are not interested in it....inform them the same....however u dont hold a right in you, to commment on some one.... now if u see a job posting with a number in google ....does it mean that its purposed for some scam??? When you search for a job and some one calling you talks to about a job opportunity..would you treat it as a scam...or would you grab that opportunity.... I personally have got benefitted from such a call.....

I hope you would grow up to that level of thinking that business is not local to ur CITY, STATE, COUNTRY ..CONTINENT....BUT ITS GLOBAL...

I would advise to stop advertising ur resume in the job boards...all these calls will stop....

And lastly....what according to you is strange....you think u are the perfect creation of GOD....some one in some part of GLOBE would feel strange about u as well.....HENCE GROW UP....

Funny Venod, sounds like you work for this company... or a company just like these scam artists. A good Christian wouldn't come on the internet and judge another based upon 1 posting... but I guess people like you hold others to a standard you can't achieve yourself. Don't envoke the name of GOD unless you wish to have it turned back on your self. "He who points one finger at his brother, has 3 pointing back at himself"

I've received 3 calls from these scum bags today within 3 hours. I was very busy in meetings but apparently they don't care about anything but screwing people because they kept calling and calling. I called them back and asked to talk to a manager to take my name off the call list. They hung up on me. I called back again and asked what is the name of your company, the guy on the phone refused to tell me. I told him that if I receive another call from them again not only would I report them to the US Government as a scam, that I would "fly to India my self and stuff my foot in his ass". If that doesn't stop them, I will be boarding a plane. I am going to report them anyway to my state Atty General and any other agency I can find.

This is one reason some people don't like companies in India. India has no controls over scams. If you pay off the right police officer or government official, you can get away with ANYTHING. I speak from years of experience with Indian companies in High Tech.

BTW... I received an email from these PESTS!... They are a recruiting company. In the signature there is piss poor English but they say they are based in California. Funny the 630 area code comes back to Western Chicago suburbs, Illinois.

I will be filing a complaint with the Attorney Generals of California, Illinois, & my home state.

    Here is the info...

"630-206-0933 www.urpantech.com UrpanTech is a full fledged Executive Search and Recruiting Firm for the IT, Leadership, SAP, HR, Banking Positions .UrpanTech is at Sunnyvale, CA and has nationwide and Global positions.  We do both Retained and Contingency Searches for our clients"

In the signature of the guy who contacted me was 2 email addresses. Only one of which were addressed to the urpantech.com address. The other was yahoo.

Sounds like a under handed company to me.

I can understand the situation you have undergone... but I request not involve "INDIA"? OR
you don't have any right to comment "INDIA"
Being a true Christian you can understand the emotions and feelings of others.
PLease please please never ever try to point INDIA.

I've started getting these calls too ever since making my resume public on careerbuilder.com and monsterjobs.com just 4 days ago.  They speak in very broken English.  They call often and it's annoying.  I appreciate the posts about this company being under-handed!  I am trying to find out if I can block certain phone numbers to my phone now.

I received a call this morning from this number.  When I picked up the call, it sounded like a recording said "hello" then a live person came on.  He told me that he was calling about a job opportunity and had seen my resume posted on monster.com.  The job opportunity was in Folsom, CA and I live in the San Fernando Valley.  Obviously, this isn't a legit recruiting firm.  First, they're not local enough to even know the area in which I reside and second, he probably doesn't even know where either location is.  Seems strange to me, but will ignore future calls.

Also, received an email shortly after from Vinod - UTC Associates
    vkumar@utcassociates.com
    630-206-0933 x7116

Thanks to everyone who posted things about this.  It's always helpful to know that there are other people out there that experience the same things.

To the two who made this about religion, it's not about that.  It's not about pinpointing a certain race or religion.  Becca was simply stating that the person who called her (and I agree) had an accent was that of an Indian person.  In no way, shape or form did they imply anything negative about the Indian race or imply anything about ANYONE'S religion, so get over yourself.  Apparently, you've got issues of your own if you feel the need to twist people's words.  You're probably part of this whole deal, so just take your business elsewhere.

F.Y.I. This caller(Indian Guy named:  sudhakar.akkinapalli@computechcorp.com) calls your phone supposedly as a hiring agent for AT&T.  But they ask for you social security number over the phone to do a background check.... Don't you believe it!!! I am reporting them to the Attorney's Generals Office.  As long as I've been seeking employment or been employed you are supposed to sign in writing(permission slip) that you are giving someone permission to investigate a background check on you.  A permission form for a background check is also accompained with a Photo ID.

I also received a call from them yesterday. The contact person was Praveen and here are the details:

    Praveen
    Recruiter - Executive Search Partner
    x 7124
    paditya@execsearchpartners.com
    www.execsearchpartners.com

He told me about SAP job opportunities and I asked for the salary base. When I told him that the number was too low, he incresead the number saying that they could offer more $$$

He also the name of the company which is hiring for this opportunity. So what I will gonna do is call this company as well (the employer is a big company, so maybe they can tell me if they use this partner for looking for candidates).

Received a call from this guy. Initially believe it, until he requested my social security number. Emailed him telling him I'd only reveal it in a face-to-face interview. He said AT&T won't consider me without it. Anyone consider calling AT&T lawyers to report this guy? I'm on hold with AT&T right now doing it.

THEY CALLED BACK! I told the guy my attorney was tracing the number and when he found the address we could go about this two ways: He can pay my attorney for finding him and I'll sue him for damages, or he can give me the address himself. Either way, I'd find him. I've never heard anyone apologize so much in my life. Guy was scared outta his head when I started throwing legal jargon at him. Love it!

I applied today for a job on careerbuilder and within 2 hours or so got a call from this recruiting company. I guess they post fake jobs on careerbuilder and moster to "phish" client?...  Anyway, added the number to MCleaner blacklist and that was the end of it.

Hi, If you have worked with AT&T or anytime submitted your resume for any position with AT&T, It is a mandatory thing to provide the SSN(last four digits) before the submission. It is to avoid the duplicate submittals from the smae cndidates or with different Parties. If you dont know this ask the person why he requires the number. Dont go on with your assumptions or thoughts. They are calling so that you will be benifited.
    Thanks

I get these calls all the time too. I work with the companies I am familiar with in the area...and there are about 6 of them. It comes down to this, if I can't understand you...I am not interested. It doesn't matter what country you are born in or your parents were born in.

If I can't understand the opportunity, how do I know it would be right for me? For me, that is how it works. Again, I work with other companies where I am at and have good relationships with them. This is only possible with good communication between me and them.
