Try these alternatives:
1. Do not answer the phone if you see an unknown number on your Caller ID ... let it go to answering machine or voicemail. Many telescammers hang up after 3 rings.
2. If you have a smartphone, get one of the inexpensive or free phone blocker apps at your online app store, and learn how to use it.
3. If your cel is not "smart", read the manual to learn how to set up a "group". Assign the scammer's phone number to that group. Also assign a "silent ring" to that group. You will not hear future calls from that number.
4. Google NoMoRobo, and visit their site, to see if your phone system is compatible with that system. (It may or may not be compatible).
5. Contact your phone service provider. They may have a facility or method to allow you to block numbers.
6. If you buy things online, you might want to google "Amazon phone blocker" to see what devices or apps Amazon has to offer for landlines or smartphones. Similar devices are for sale on eBay and other online stores.
http://gg.gg/blockers - MiltonI just received a call as well and did not answer. Slim is right as stated above. I just blocked the number on my iphone .
- joCalled my cell. No message. I don't answer unknown numbers, although I almost answered because my daughter just started a new job in that area code. Glad I didn't.
- Caller: unknown
- GStated that I've been selected as winner of a vacation.
- JDI have received literally over 50 calls from this # over the past few months. I always let it go to voice mail, as I am either sleeping in the late morning or at work in theearly afternoon. The caller NEVER leaves a message, & when I call back, I get the following recorded message: "The number you have dialed is not a working number. Please check the number & dial again".
- BishopI just got a call from this number as well. The one time I did answer they were doing a promotions of some sort. I quickly hung up. I believe it is a marketing promotions or something. They call and never leave a message.
- Buttera MunchausenI answered out of curiosity. A female voice told me I had been selected as a finalist for a $50,000.00 drawing or some damn thing. She said that she had all my information right there in front of her. I asked he what my name was. There was a slight pause and then she started talking about where they get the names on their list. I again asked her what my name was. Again, a pause, following by a different answer about where they get their names but not a response telling me MY name. At that point I realized she was a recording and they were using a somewhat sophisticated robo system that keyed on my having said "name" and attempted to answer with a pre-recorded message. When I again asked my name, robo-lady said she'd switch me to someone to better answer my question. I was transferred to an obviously Hispanic woman who barely spoke English, who, judging from the background noise, was clearly speaking with me from a busy call center. I told her that the recording said she had all my info in front of her. The Hispanic lady said that was correct and that they needed me to verify my information. They were clearly fishing for me to give them my information. When I asked HER for my name, she said what appeared to be a Hispanic woman's name. I asked if that was her name and she said no, that was the name their records said was associated with my phone number, a cell number I've had more than 15 years. She asked me what my relationship with that woman was and, in somewhat cruder words than these, I said that the woman whose name she said was associated with my number occasionally allows me to engage in [***] with her. She said, "WHAT?!" and I repeated it in a way louder and cruder than the first time I'd said it. She hung up. Almost immediately I received a new call from an "UNKNOWN" number which I declined followed by another which I also declined. This was a few hours ago. Haven't been called by them since.
- ClaudiaCaller said I won Direct TV. I hung up phone. When did I get on this type of call list? I don't have cable or satellite or anything else of this nature. Heck...I don't even own a TV.

- Call type: Telemarketer
- BriJust got a call from this #, I don't answer when i don't recognize the #. It went to voicemail but they left no message. My question to anyone that's answered the call and got some bs about winning a trip or contest or something; have you guys recently submitted for any giveaways? I have through 2 people that I watch on YouTube (one of which warns about scams and sets up her giveaways in a way to protect her viewers from scams) but I wonder if that's how my number got on some list. Just wondering if anyone else has done anything similar. In which case obviously it's a scam and only listen or trust the person in charge of the giveaway you entered. (For instance) if you get anything saying you've won before the actual end date of the giveaway it's a scam, but also the person running it will announce the winner on their page an any other social media outlet they have so cross reference before you submit any kind of information. Also a giveaway would never need credit card, social security or any other information like that. At most an address to send what ever you won to you. But in that case they would get in contact with you personally.
- cat in hatI got the call. They hung up.
- LindaJust got five texts from this number in two days. The first was a pic of a cute dog. I said "Awwww" or something to that effect. I know people in this area code. I then got two more pics of the dog & a question in Spanish.
I texted back "I think you have the wrong number" and thought that would be it, but this morning they sent a YouTube link. I blocked the number.- Caller: Unknown Texts
